Wait list came through v quick, and never appeared on RAT

Well, I did fancy Boardwalk this next trip in late July, but kids and wife were not happy because of the 4 sleep surfaces in the 1 bed and daughter (14) and son (11) now getting too old to share a bed. So I booked a 1 bed Lake view at BLT, and was v happy. This was only booked last Saturday.
Thought I’d waitlist a 2 bed standard at Boardwalk (exactly same points as 1 bed Lake View at BLT), but didn’t hold out much hope given they are basically booked until next December and I am staying 5 nights.
For some reason today I remembered the waitlist so actually checked the RAT 3-4 times, including this evening.
Suddenly a few hours later, the confirmation came through that we’d secured the 2 bed lock off at Boardwalk.
So in my case, unless it appeared in a couple of hours and I never saw it, waitlist won out over stalking. Pretty chuffed and the kids can stay in their own wing.

I had a pleasant surprise! Got a “Welcome Home” e-mail because October 3 became available at BCV! I hope to go to Moonlight Magic that night and really did not expect it to be fulfilled. I had booked a BWV studio for the night, but now have a 4 night BCV stay, no moving!

What good luck! Congratulations! You will be spoiled with the 2 bedroom. It is wonderful to be able to keep the kitchen/living room free for those who want to stay up later or get up early!!! (Plus you will have 3 TVs & 3 remotes). Enjoy!

Congratulations on waitlist coming through.

I had waitlisted GCV studio about a week ago and figured it wasn’t going to come through so booked a cash reservation just in case. I was also late to waitlist and assumed there were many ahead of me. I found one night pop up and grabbed it. A couple days later, another night popped up and I grabbed that too. Then the third wasn’t showing in availability tool but just for the heck tried to book and it was available! Got three night weekend all in a 2 day time span. I’ve been checking regularly and NOTHING has come up recently for my dates.

I was actually just debating on canceling the one night I had because I figured the other nights were impossible to get and my banking deadline is end of this month. GCV points stays seem to never have check in available till very late and with the morning check out a one night stay doesn’t seem worth it. I now have about $1200 extra in my pocket not having to pay for cash reservation and I used up my extra points without banking.

I’m pretty sure that someone ahead of me would have got these nights had I not checked at the right time. Sometimes I wonder if there’s an algorithm that notices, “geez this lady Really wants those nights. let’s spit out some pixie dust.”
