Wait for me, I like ruckus - A mother/daughter Spring Break 2013 Trip *COMPLETE 5/10*

So we last left off with our return trek to Toy Story Mania.
--------------------------

We now only had 2 minutes until we could go and no I didn’t want to be one of those people that say “I’m 2 minutes early, just let me go” So I took this picture to prove to my Dad just how popular the ride was.

And it was only 9:50.

I beat my Mom again. Two years in a row!!

My Mom wanted to go do the Backlot Tour because it broke last time when we were riding it.

I know that it says 'set' but I honestly thought it said something else..:rolleyes1

We sat down and when I looked up I saw this. I love this show!!!

The lady behind us was worried. She kept telling her husband “The seat is wet. Why is the seat wet? I don’t want to get wet. I won’t be happy if I get wet” We get it lady, you don’t want to get wet.

Now as I said before my Mom isn’t the best picture taker. But I wanted a picture next to a poster from West Side Story (I’m a theatre nerd and I remember watching it hundreds of times in class)
We stood here for no joke 5 minutes, me trying to explain to my Mom how to push the button and me constantly smiling. Finally we got it.

We walked out and I saw Mike and Sully.
I think I need this picture at work. I had a kid lick soap off his hand this year. Eww.

Now it was time for breakfast. So Starring Rolls here we come.
I sent these pictures to everyone in my family. I hope they were jealous.

I couldn’t finish my cupcake. I ate the cupcake part and the chocolate on top. I really did try too.

My Mom finished hers and she didn’t share, might I add.

It was 11:00 and we have already done a lot on our list. So we decided to take it slow from now on.

(I’m normally a pretty good picture taker but the walking and picture taking thing is clearly not my strongest asset)
We kept walking until we got here and the wait time said 35 minutes. I turned to my Mom and told her but when I turned around to point it out to her the time changed to 20. So we went and ended up waiting about 20 minutes.

We got to sit in the back row.

We’re riding along until we come to the gangster scene, then we drive right through it!

Whoo hoo! :yay:

I was so excited and tried to explain to my Mom and apparently the row in front of me (because they kept looking at me) how exciting this is. No one really understood.
Then comes my favorite scene. Munchkin Land! I’m a huge Wizard of Oz fan (seriously how did I not get beat up on a daily basis, growing up) and of course I can’t help but sing along. Normally I’m the only one who does it but this time the old man in front of me sang along too. We became friends.

So we were done with that and decided to do some walking around.

Now it’s about 12 and we decide to go ride Star Tours.

It was a 15 minute wait (better than the 35 it was last summer) but it was a quick 15. Again the people in front of us were new at this. And one girl was very certain that the ride was going to go upside down. Her friend assured her it doesn’t but scared girl wasn’t hearing it. All through the line, she kept saying how afraid she was if it does go upside down.

We ride it and again, I wasn’t the rebel spy… One day I will…

Next up was Muppet Vision.

Ahh I have so many memories from here. I was going to show my Mom the key again but there was actually a 10 minute wait for it.. Wow that’s a first. But the line moved fast then we waited so it was 10 minutes but it was really walking about 10 more steps and then waiting the normal time
Now I’m not going to lie, I accidentally ate a bubble. Those bubbles taste differently than the ones at work.. eww

To be continued...

Sorry for the bombarding of posts, I’m trying to get as much done during my lunch break as possible. Without actually 'working' ;)
-----------------------------------

So my Mom kept saying she wanted to do the Lights, Motor, Action show. So we moseyed over there and got a seat. Luckily it wasn’t hot. I couldn’t have imagined it that in the summer, not in the shade.
I admit, I wasn’t excited to begin with. But in the end it was actually pretty cool.

Luckily we beat most of the crowd out.

Now it was 2:15 and neither of us has eaten real food besides a cupcake all day. Beware of the grumpies.
So off to find real food we go.

We ended up at ABC Commissary. Sent another food picture to my Dad.

After eating we decided to call it a break for the afternoon and head to the exit. Of course, stopping for some Photopass pictures as we go.

Apparently something was said that caused us to laugh..

We ended up leaving about 3.

I wanted to take a picture of the AofA sign without having to wander into the street.

Got it.
So we rested and recharged our phones at the room until 4:00 and realize we are not tired. So we head to the food court and eat an early dinner, while taking some pictures along the way.

We finish dinner and head out at 6.

The only real goal for the night was for me to ride ToT again and hopefully see Fantasmic without being rained out like last time.
So I made the mad dash to go get a FP. Come back to find my Mom talking to some complete stranger. Really Mom?

So we decide to do some shopping while we wait. I bought a Darkwing Duck shirt, that I LOVE! Every time I have worn it I get compliments on it.
I end up going to the bathroom and notice this. Hmm clearly someone didn’t do their job correctly.

We find a bench and wait. I tell my Mom I want to do Rockin Rollercoaster again. So we devise a plan that I ride that and ToT and come back for her then we go to get a spot for the 8:00 show. Seems like a good idea right. So I head over at 6:30 telling her I will be back in an hour.

I get in the single rider line for Rockin Rollercoaster and make friends with the group in front of me. They were from Fayetteville (the college town about 10 minutes from where I live). The line took about 30 minutes. I get a semi front row seat this time. We were getting ready to ‘merge’ when the ride stopped. It ended up doing the launch sequence 4 times before we actually went anywhere.

I get off that at 7:22. Perfect timing to ride TofT. So over I go. To wait in line about 15 minutes, opps, that’s past 7:30. And I didn’t take my cell phone so I can’t text my Mom and let her know. So I just cross my fingers and hope she stays where I left her.
Being a 1 is kind of fun sometimes. I just stand there and be a nosy rosy and listen to other peoples conversations. This time it included 2 families with little girls that were riding for the first time. They were scared but ‘super duper excited’.
So I told myself that I was going to do it with no hands and I did yay. So I was going to hold on until the picture was taken then let go. But the guy next to me decided to hold the same handle as me. Even though I already was. I’m not sure if he knew this or not, he just kept holding my hand and squeezing for dear life. Maybe he thought it was a squishy handle bar. So I wiggle my hand free and let go. Then he did too.
Yay me.

Now it was 7:35, not bad only 5 minutes late. So I hustle it back to the bench apologizing profusely to my Mom who was fine with it, saying she people watched the whole time. I love her for not being mad.

More to be continued... :)

One more and I'm done with day 3 :)
------------------

We join the jumble of people getting in line and get a spot towards the back 3 rows from the top. The preshow was fun. I kept saying all the trivia answers right and my Mom was clearly surprised I knew so much. Well duh.

Fantasmic was fun. I don’t remember it from 10 years ago, so it was almost like seeing it all over again for the first time. We snuck out a bit before the finale so we don’t have to fight the crowds. Then we make our way across to Fairfax Fair and grab some drinks and wait out the crowd. I wanted some night pictures so we just decided to wait rather than fight the crowd. Then I notice that my pants were wet. Apparently I sat in a puddle, as long as it wasn’t bird poop I was fine.

About 9:30 we make our way to the entrance.

Ok funny picture time popcorn::

Clearly one of the only times in my life that I was not happy at Disney World :guilty:

So I found the hat and sent the picture to my Dad.

See times have changed. :thumbsup2

We saw the photopass lady and took some pictures. Including the one with this guy who decided to jump into our picture, thanks dude.

I stopped and took this picture at the bus stop. Pretty.

Ahh the bus was packed but luckily we got seats.

Ha ha I love the story behind this picture. So my Mom accidently fell down at home. She tripped on something, who really knows. But in our family, if we witness something you do and it is funny, we will remind you about it every day. So I took this picture and sent it to my Dad, who replied with “Buy one, we need one at home for your mother” she said she wasn’t happy about it but she smiled and laughed.

Now time for my Mom's boo-boo from the trip. :goodvibes Before we left in the evening I put our mugs in my bag. I was going to refill them when we got back to the resort. So my Mom assures me she knows where she is going and she will be in the shower when I get back. Off I go, refill the mugs and walk back. Only to open the door to my Mom standing in room, not having showered yet. I look at her and she says “I got lost” ha ha (something new to remind her about everyday) Apparently she took a left instead of a right and went around the back side of the other building :lmao:

I chuckled about it for the rest of the night. We called it a night around 11.

Next up… “Your brown not Canadian” and clearly I’m not 21 anymore.

Great update. Love all of your Photopass pics, you got some great shots.

I love that you sing along with Wizard of Oz because so do I :thumbsup

Thanks, I had the Photopass+ this time and I wanted to make sure I got my money’s worth. According to one photopass photographer he said someone had 1700. No way I was that close. I ended up with about 400 though :) The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies ever!! Thanks for reading along :yay:

Great update! :)
Thanks, I’m determined to finish this thing as quickly as possible. Before I forget and before I start planning my next one :yay:

It's that time of day again. My class is napping, so update time!! :yay: There is a lot of pictures on this day so it may take 4 or 5 posts. So hang on.
------------------------------------------
Day 4 – March 19th

Today was EMH at EPCOT. So the alarm went off at 5:45 today. It may have been a little harder to get up than normal, I’m not going to lie. So we get dressed and head out by 7:10. Wait, why is it dark? Oh yeah the time change…

A family that matches together stays together.. You can’t see it because I was doing the walk and take picture thing. But man and lady have matching shirt fabric.

There’s the sun.

So there was a small almost fight that happened and I had nothing to do with it, I promise. So since they were still installing the RFID machines there were essentially only 6 lines. So we get into a line hoping that we are ok where we are. This man about 10 people back from me decides to stand next to me. He yells at the CM and asks if he is ok where he is standing, the CM tells him yes he should be ok where he is. So the man stands there and of course people see what he is doing and join him. Well the lady behind me was not a fan of this. She starts commenting loudly how they are cutting in line and it isn’t fair :scared1: Then the line starts moving and lady loses it. She starts pushing our line forward to try and be first. Pushing ensues between lots of people. Said people start yelling and making not nice comments. All in all I ended up getting pushed around a bit but made it in.
The CM in front of my turnstile loved my Darkwing Duck shirt. I told him I got it at Hollywood Studios and he said he was going to have to go buy one for his son.

Then I had to make the mad dash to Soarin. It’s my Mom’s favorite ride so we always do it twice. The plan was for me to get a head start, grab 2 Fastpasses, and then when she catches up we go standby. So I join the other people. Got the fastpasses.

And wait. Then I go to the bathroom. And wait some more. In my head I’m thinking “self, she wouldn’t get lost would she. All she has to do is follow the crowd of people in front of her.” She finally catches up. Standby here we come.

So we go through concourse 1. Since we are a 2 we got to ‘cut’ in line. So we meet Patrick our flight attendant and get ready to go. Only to hear from the CM that it’s broken…. But they walk us over to concourse 2 and we get right on.

Luckily with the minor technical difficulties, it made it so we get off then turn around and use our Fastpasses.

We see Patrick again and fly over California again. This time with no technical difficulties.
By now it’s only 9:05. What to do now. I tell my Mom “Let’s fastpass Test Track” since last year it was still in the middle of the refurbish. Well my Mom wants to do the Land. So I tell her to give me her card and I will huff it over to Test Track and get the Fastpasses, so off I go.

I get them and huff it back, by 9:25. First a picture stop. I see you Mom…

I have spent enough time on here to know about the Strawberry shortcake but last time I didn’t get it, but this time I will!

Success.
Yes I ate cake for breakfast. Disney is really only one of those few places where you can eat cake for breakfast and no one really judges you.
I ate my cake and took pictures.

At 10:00 we got in line for the Land and we got front row again.

I love you bananas. I am actually allergic to them, but that doesn’t stop me from eating them. I just have to make sure my throat doesn’t close up.

By the time we finish it’s about 10:15, so we decide to trek it over to Test Track.

We decided that we weren’t going to build our own car or anything so we just continue on through the line.

Again, being a 2 is nice sometimes. We ended up riding with a family of 3 in the front and a single rider in our row. I bumped my knee trying to get in. I was trying to help my Mom get in and the CM was looking at me with that ‘hurry lady’ face on, so I plopped myself down without looking and my knee jammed against the railing. Ouchie.

I had received a 20% off coupon from my strawberry shortcake and since we had enough time before World Showcase opened we did some shopping at Mousegears.
We ended up getting some magnets and my Mom got a shirt.

By now it was 11:00 and off we went. Where were we going?

Nope

Nope again.

Almost there..

Yay. Finally!
I love this ride. I think Norway has a special place in my heart. See in 10th grade English we had to do an oral history of a country and I picked/got stuck with Norway.

We left Norway and headed back to Mexico. Taking apparently only 1 picture along the way.

Made it to Mexico

My cousins and I were obsessed with the movie when we were younger. So naturally I sang the song as we went along.

We were done with that part of World Showcase by 11:30. We were on our way to Le Cellier for our 12:05 lunch reservation.

To be continued...

]Day 4 – March 19th - Part 2

More pictures as we walk.

Since we were early we sat down on the benches and we made a friend.

Actually the family next to us feeding them fries made friends, they just assumed that we had fries too.

We decided to go check in about 12. Of course we were early but they let us sit there and wait until they started seating people. We were on the quick service dining plan so this meal was an out of pocket one. Which is ok, I had saved up for it :)
Some lady came to check her family in and when the CM told her it was worth 2 credits a person. Lady became irate :furious: Literally yelling at her and telling her no one had told her that, the CM calmly told her that it has been since January. Lady refused to hear it saying she wasn’t going to eat there now, then the CM told her there was a $10 cancellation few. Lady became even more irate, demanding to speak to the manager. Whoa lady calm yourself :sad2:
Some of the CM’s decided to ‘open’ the restaurant by singing O’ Canada, well as a huge hockey fan, I have heard the song many times. So naturally I sang along.
Meanwhile, people around me; including my Mom look at me like I’m crazy. So I whisper to my Mom ‘hockey games’ and she nods and agrees. Apparently one of the CM’s saw/heard me to because he smiled at me. When they were done singing they said “and what normally follows that…” and they and I said “Let’s play some hockey”. :cheer2:
People always seem surprised I’m a hockey fan because I’m 1; a girl, 2; originally from southern New Mexico, 3; I’m ‘brown’ (Hispanic), and 4; I live in Arkansas now. Well I’m an only child and a girl, my Dad wanted a boy and got me, so I know more about football and hockey then a lot of other girls I know.

Ok back to the food.
We sit down, right by the entrance which is ok because I can see everyone as they come in. I also believe that our waiter said we were seated in the capital of ‘Montreal’. Again I named several hockey players from there. Clearly I need a life…

I love the new glow in the dark menus.

Our little table is so cute..

We ordered our food and waited for this yummy stuff.

I love you pretzel bread.

Then this..

And finally this…

I hit the wall with 5 bites left. But I pushed on like a trooper.
After finishing our food and moving at a snail’s pace to the exit. We made it outside, back into the bright light. After what I thought was my retinas burning off we made our way into the gift shop.

This shirt came home with me…

This one didn’t but it still made me laugh.

Since we knew we shouldn’t sit down, didn’t want to chance falling asleep sitting. So walking and picture taking we go.

I love afternoon crowds.

To be continued...

Day 4 – March 19th - Part 3

Off to England we go.

My Mom likes me to do the stop but make it look like you’re walking pictures.

We were going to go meet Pooh and Tigger but the line was a little too long and it was cramped and I had eaten too much food and the grumpies were kicking in :sad1:
I think we needed a break. So we starting heading for the door.

We stopped in Oz and walked around for a bit but there were just too many people in this little area so we took a picture then kept moving.

We saw the wait was only 5 minutes for Spaceship Earth so we went on.

When we were done looking into our future, we were walking along and saw these guys.

Then we saw the photopass lady :)

Ok now we are really leaving

We made it back to the room and between eating as much food as we did and it being one of the warmest days so far, we napped
Yes that’s right me being “uh I hate taking naps, I only wake up more tired”
Granted it was only about an hour and 10 minutes but nonetheless it was a nap.

So at 4:40pm my alarm goes off and back to EPCOT we go.
An afternoon picture before we go. We made it to the bus stop by 5:00 and only had to wait a minute before the next bus pulled up.

Not bad for a walking and taking picture at the same time..

Yeah notice some clouds here. There was a 30% chance of rain that day. Which we all know means that it isn’t really going to do anything. But this time the clouds were rolling in so we decided to keep an eye out. Just in case.

My Mom said that she wanted to ride the boat, so we waited until the next one showed up. Ok rant time. As a teacher, I keep an eye out for children who are wandering around by themselves. Habit I guess. So as we were sitting down this little girl who was maybe 6 started walking away from her family. She made it 5 yards before her Dad comes to get her. Then he proceeds to sit her on the flower bed wall and reprimand her. Telling her he’s going to hit her and that she’s not going to eat dinner now. Ahh really dude? Not only is your negative behavior the worst reaction here but keep in mind dude that there about 15 people within earshot hearing you yell at your daughter. She proceeded to yell and cry then he just tells her “I’m leaving you here” and walks over to the railing. I almost intervened before the Mom came over and grabbed the girl and carried her away. Witnessing this kind of upset my mood but I was determined to not let it, so on the boat we went.
Once we enjoyed the short little boat ride we ended up in Morocco. Before we left this morning we left off at France so the plan was to walk that way then walk back counter clockwise around World Showcase.

To be continued...

Day 4 – March 19th - Part 4

Oh look a photopass guy

According to the clock in this picture it was about 6:35 at this point. First order of business in France. Drink!

Hello friend.

My Mom got one to. Which was a bad idea, she is by no means a drinker. Then again I’m not either but I was 21 a little more recent then she was.

I held on to my drink as I walked and took some pictures.

We finished our drinks and decided picture taking and walking was the plan for the evening.
Back to Morocco, for some pictures and window shopping.

Restroom break, before we go anywhere else. Before we went on, I took it as time to take a picture.

I was taking a lot of ‘crowd’ pictures so I could show you all and also my friends and family who assume that it’s never that busy over Spring Break.

We stopped in Japan because I wanted to look at the Totoro stuff.

I love him so much. But not $30 worth. Sorry.
So I bought a card that cost $4, its on my fridge now.

My Mom wanted me to take a picture with Domo. Not sure why though.

Pictures here done. More pictures and more walking we go.

Until we got here.
Then we doubled back because my Mom wanted a funnel cake. While in line I made friends with the slightly inebriated man behind me. He was really excited about his and he was getting ice cream on it too.

We got ours and found a seat next to the America gift shop.

We finished that and kept going. Meanwhile, my Mom is walking a little slower than normal, and she walks snail pace to begin with. More on why later.

I took a picture first (that I tried to post but it won't turn to a portrait ), then my Mom wanted one with me in it.

Off we go again…

While waiting to take this picture a Mother, Daughter, and Son combo were in the process of taking one. Well the Mom wanted one by herself so she went and stood there. Son kept taking pictures even while she was talking to him. Apparently from his laughter, he got one that was hysterical. He kept telling her “You have to put that one on Facebook” It’s nice to know that I am not the only one who puts funny not always attractive pictures on there, a lot of those, you had to be there kind of pictures.

My Mom is funny. “Go stand by the light pole”
Um ok..

Off to Germany we go.

See I love Penguins (mostly because I love Penguins hockey, but penguins are cute too) and my Aunt loves pigs. So I sent her this picture.

Then we stop at China. By now its 8:00ish. We still haven’t decided where we are staying for Illuminations. So I leave my Mom on a bench while I take a few pictures.

To be continued..

Day 4 March 19th - Part 5 (told you 5 posts)

Then we see photopass guy. Yay more pictures.
I love World Showcase at night, it is one of my most favorite things. This is my current Facebook picture, even though it's a little blurry.

After pictures we grab some famous school bread and get them to go, we will just eat them later. I giggled like a 13 year old when I realized that the two of them sitting together looked like something found on a woman.. he he :rolleyes1 ;)& moving on..

More pictures in Mexico.

Then I stop and ask my Mom if she wants to stay for Illuminations and clearly she wasnt feeling good. She should not drink, it accelerated her heart rate a little much. So we decided to call it a night and go back.

I tried to take a walking picture of the light up walkway. Because I tell people that they have lights and they dont believe me (clearly I have non-Disney fans as friends as you can probably tell by now)

One more picture for the night.

We made it back to our room by 9:00ish. I go and grab us dinner while my Mom lies down. She shouldnt party this hard anymore ha ha.

Dinner yay.

Then I broke into this.

Yum.

I had eaten a little too much food this day. I went to bed feeling not so great.
Took 2 Tums and went to bed about 11:00.

Up next&. Tut tut it looks like rain and don't look at me like that

I am enjoying your TR! My daughter and I did a mother/daughter trip in November, and it was so much fun! Special time. Too much food.
Hurry up and write some more...I am living vicariously through you right now!

I am enjoying your TR! My daughter and I did a mother/daughter trip in November, and it was so much fun! Special time. Too much food.
Hurry up and write some more...I am living vicariously through you right now!

Of course there is too much food there always is :) Thanks for following along :wave2:

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a crazy week but the good thing is that there is only 20 more school days until summer vacation! ::yes:::woohoo:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 5 – March 20th

So this morning started out like any other morning so far. Alarm goes off at 7:00 and we get ready and head out at 8:00ish.
The plan for the day was to head to the Magic Kingdom.
However we get to the bus stop and I notice that it is a little cloudier then the past mornings. I check the weather channel and it shows a 80% chance of rain, so I go into the gift shop and buy 2 ponchos. Remember how my Mom thought she had packed hers but it was a shower curtain. She never found the poncho from last time. So I just bought her a new one.
With ponchos in hand I make it back to the bus stop with about a minute to spare before the clouds start to open up. At first it was just a sprinkle and we are fine with that. Then by the time we get on the bus and start driving, the clouds really open up and it starts to pour. We were sitting in the back of the bus (my favorite seats) and then the lady sitting nearby me starts looking up. So of course I do too. We all notice that the emergency hatch on the top of the bus is leaking. Not a lot but still it was pretty wet on the floor. So we are getting closer and closer and the rain just keeps falling. Ahh looks like our first actual rain day of our trip.

Our bus driver apparently liked us a little he tried to drop us off as close to the entrance as possible. We get off the bus and decide to put on our ponchos, then venture off. See this morning I put on my Toms, two steps into walking, they were soaking wet :sad1:

We make it through bag check and the turnstiles. By now its 8:40 and of course with the rain there was no opening show so at 9:00 rope drop happens and off we go.

Since we are planning a full day here again tomorrow we are not in any major hurry to see everything. The things on our list was to eat at Be Our Guest for lunch, and ride the reopened Splash Mountain, other than that we were playing it by ear today :)

So we walked up Main Street and through the castle. Then we hung a left and went to Fantasyland. We were going to ride Pooh first. So we uncomfortably sit in our purple honey pot with our ponchos. When the ride was over I wanted to ride the Tea Cups, my Mom isn’t a fan of going around and around in circles, so I always do it myself.

After the tea cups we made a pit stop. Where I went about and showed my Dad what kind of morning we were having.

Then I ditched the poncho, it wasn’t raining enough for it anymore.

So we walked out and guess who happens to be walking in front of us.

We got our picture taken with the white rabbit and off we went again.
Dumbo here we come. We got to go on the Fastpass Dumbo, I felt so special.
We sit down and I hear my Mom complaining, she sat in a puddle ha ha. Sorry Mom.
My Mom wanted a picture, but she didn’t tell me to turn around apparently.

Then she called me…

Much better

My Mom decided she wanted a picture with me in the pretend Dumbo.

By now it’s only 9:50 and we still have about 15 minutes before we are going to get in line for lunch so we are going to go see Peter Pan again.

The wait was only 5 minutes if even that and before you know it we are flying over London. By now however, my shoes are soaked though and I decide to take my socks off. So as we are flying I’m struggling to take my socks off. Thank goodness my socks and my shoes didn’t go flying over the edge. That might have been an interesting discussion :rotfl:

After seeing Peter again we go see the Tangled bathroom, last time it was dark and I wanted to see it in the day time.
It was a 2 for 1 trip :)
Myself and this lady almost slipped walking down the little slope :rolleyes:I blame my issue on the fact that my shoes are soaking wet and have no traction, I don’t know what the ladies issue was.

To be continued...

Now we start heading back so we can get in line for lunch

We got in line at 10:15 to wait. The wait was only 15 minutes, so what do we do in the mean time.
Take pictures of course!

Then the line starts moving… Yay :cool1:

We order our food and take a seat in the main ballroom.

I posted this on Instagram

After I finished eating I told my Mom I was going to go take some pictures.
Of course since it was dark my West Wing pictures are too dark

We finished eating at 11:20 and headed back out into the sun, the rain had left and made it a beautiful afternoon.

I love how this kind of looks like where my Aunt lives.

We decided to take some pictures as we walk then head over to Frontier Land.

I love the look on the guy in the red jackets face.

Starting to become a little more crowded.

We made it to Frontierland.

I went to get a Fastpass for Splash Mountain :thumbsup2

Now we had about an hour to spend so we walked around and did some people watching.
My Mom saw someone eating butter out of a tub with a spoon :lmao:

Now I wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain, but that it another that my Mom isn’t a big fan of. So I Fastpass it for myself.

When 12:30 rolled around I made my way over to Big Thunder and grabbed a Fastpass.

Well hello crowds.

To be continued...

Now that our window was open we got in the Fastpass line apparently the person who was trying to get in line missed his window by 10 minutes and he was upset to say the least at the CM for not letting him go through :furious:

We get up to the CM seating people and he sits us in row 2. Well the people in front of us must have been on a mother/daughter trip too. The girl turns around and asks us if we want row 1. As much as I would love it, my Mom wouldn’t so I declined :sad1:

Clearly they didn’t want to get wet :)

I guess the preview here board was broken, so I had to get in line to get my picture with the people who wanted to take a picture of their picture. That line seriously seemed longer than any other line we waited in to get on a ride. The little boy behind me knocked over a tower of picture frames and of course the parents really didn’t seem to care about it.

By the time this was all over I had 20 minutes until my BTM fastpass window opened. So I went to the bathroom to see just how wet my shirt got from SM, luckily not too bad. Given the fact that it had poured down rain in the morning, I figured it’s no big deal.

I went with my Mom to find a spot to sit while I went on BTM. When she found a spot near some benches, off I went.

After an uneventful wait in line. It was my turn to get on. I get in my row by myself then I notice some lady try and sit in my row. She looks at me and I look at her, then she asks her daughter in Spanish (who is still in line waiting for the next train) why I won’t move over for her. The daughter then comes over and grabs the woman and puts her back in line and says stay. Well that’s a nice way to treat your Mom ha ha.

Clearly my Mom found a bench to sit on.

Really Mom? Again with the taking a picture as I’m walking thing.

Now that we have successfully did everything that was on our list of things to do. We decided to treat ourselves.
With a churro and some popcorn!

Some little boy was trying to feed the birds a turkey leg. The birds really liked it, and then when the little boy dropped his turkey leg on the floor, he wasn’t very happy.
We eat our snacks and then cross over to Adventureland. Even though I already ate a churro and some popcorn, I wanted a Dole Whip.

Got it!

By now it is 2:30 and we decide to call it a day here. So we make our way to the exit, but first some photopass pictures.
The guy that took our picture had just relieved the other photopass guy so they were both standing there. And they were hysterical. Which made my Mom and I laugh throughout all the pictures. Which are in my opinion some of my favorite!

I have this picture in a white frame on my mantle. It looks so pretty.

I decided that I wanted to do some shopping in the Emporium. So while I’m fighting the crowds trying to look at things my Mom tells me that she is going to the restroom. So I tell her to go and I will meet her at the end of the store facing the train station. Seems simple right? Um I forgot it’s 2:50 now, which means when my Mom makes it back it will be during the parade. Oops.

I finish buying a few things for my friends and go to the meeting point. Then the parade starts and I figure, I’m here, might as well watch it.

Then the parade ends and I see this.

Hopefully my Mom can find me. While I’m waiting my phone rings. It’s a 479 area code so it’s from home. So I answer it figuring it’s something bad, everyone knows I’m on vacation so who would call me.
It was the pharmacy telling me that my prescriptions have been on the shelf for 4 days and they have to put them back, unless I can pick them up now. Once I explained to the man that I was 1,130 miles away in Disney World and that I can’t go now but I can when I get back home. He laughed and told me to enjoy my vacation. Well that was nice of him.

So I continued to wait for my Mom wondering and hoping she didn’t get lost.

I find my Mom finally. She said she got stunk in the traffic and couldn’t make it back.
We make our way to the exit by 3:30 and head back to the room for a break.

After our break we head back out to EPCOT by 6:00. Stopping for a photopass picture of course.

Then we make our way through. Again, we have no real goal in plan for tonight. I just wanted to get a hockey shirt from Canada for my Dad.

As we are walking I see something that I think resembles a penguin.
It is!! I no joke ran like a 5 year old around the fountain and got in line.
The handler looked at my Arkansas Hockey shirt that I had on and seemed puzzled. I explained to him all about it and we talked football while I waited.

And took some pictures.

Then I met him! Happy Margaret

We kept on moving, deciding that we were kinda hungry.

We decided to get dinner from Mexico. My Mom tells me what she wants and she starts to hover. Luckily some man heard me tell her to try and find a spot and he gave us his. Nice man.

We eat our dinner and I decided it was time for a margarita.
My Mom ‘caught’ me in the act.

Then I took a selfie.

We walk out of Mexico to some rain. Nothing serious, but enough for a poncho. So we put on our ponchos and walk to Canada so I can get my Dad his shirt.
Then the rain stops.

Then it starts again. I’m not sure if we were just tired or what but we decided that we were calling it a night. Crap! The shirt.
So I leave my mom in the giftshop closest to Mexico and make the dash to Canada.
I was drinking my margarita kinda fast, I didn’t want rain water in it.
I get the shirt and get in line and the very nice man behind me gave me the 14 cents needed to complete the transaction. Again, thank you nice man.

Meanwhile, the rain has stopped but I’m honestly tired. So I find my Mom who of course has found herself some pens and magnets.
While we were checking out the CM asks me why I look sad. I told him I wasn’t sad it was because I just chugged my margarita and I haven’t done that since I was in college. My Mom wasn’t too happy to hear that comment :( In all honestly I wasn’t one of those partiers in college, far from it actually ha ha, its just funny to joke about it like that :)

It’s about 8 now and we get our stuff and head back out. Of course it’s still raining, but we agree that we want to go back, we are tired and in need of some rest.
We wait in line with the other people waiting to go back. Tomorrow being our last park day we decide to get a salad. We figure we can put it in the fridge and eat it later if necessary.
We make it to the resort and grab dinner, refill our cups, and head back to the room.

And even though I’m not really hungry.
I eat my salad.

At 9 I could have sworn we saw fireworks but I’m not 100% sure where they came from…

I text my Dad pictures of the day and tell him about tomorrow being our last day.
I call it a night around 11 and the minute my head hits that pillow I’m out. I guess I was tired.

Up next…. Wheels on the bus and finding a friend :)

Wow where has the time gone. I really felt like I had just updated yesterday…. Guess not. Hopefully, I can finish it today. :thumbsup2

Day 6 – March 21st

I woke up at 6 and to a very sad realization. Today was the last full day in Disney…
We had one more day and I was determined to make it a good day!
Since today was EMH at Magic Kingdom we were heading out early.
We were at the bus stop by 7:00 and on a bus within 5 minutes.
I was sitting on the bus ride thinking “Ahh this is the last time we will be getting off to go to a park.”
We were through bag check and waiting for the show by…
According to this picture 7:35

My Mom said ‘smile’ I’m not really sure where this ‘smile’ came from.. It looks kind of creepy IMO ha ha

So I don’t know if it was just the day we went but there was really no ‘welcome show’ like there was last time. I’m not going to lie, I was a little sad.

They just came out and waved…

Anyways, after ropedrop we hung a right and cut in front of Tomorrowland Terrace with my Mom saying “hey we can eat there for breakfast”
Sadly, breakfast was not on our priority list right now. We were on our way to Space Mountain.
We get to a small stand still. We were still waiting for them to open Tomorrowland so I snapped this picture while I waited.

We make it through the crowds and we see this…

I love the look on this girls face.. She looks genuinely upset about something. Apparently I heard that the ride wasn’t ready.
Finally the line moved. Once it started moving, it went quick. The best thing about this time though…. We got to ride the omega side! First time ever! I was excited..

See I was excited….

We finish this and my Mom was still set on trying to beat me at Buzz, so off we go again..

I won again... It’s safe to say that I am slightly better at this then my Mom

Once we finished that it was ? and we decieded we were going to do something we rarely do on vacation, eat breakfast..
Since my Mom was so excited about breakfast, we went back to Tomorrowland Terrance.
After we ordered and took a seat, I texted my Dad about it being cold. Since we have previously only ever went to Disney during July, he thought I was crazy. So I sent him a picture of me drinking hot chocolate.

I made it all the way to the second to last day with taking pictures before I ate…. I guess not today…

After breakfast we cut back through Tomorrowland and looked in some stores. Since it was pretty much the last park day, it was last minute souvenir shopping too.
We grabbed a few things and kept going.

We made it back to Fantasyland and decided to go on Pooh one more time….
As a HUGE Pittsburgh Penguins fan, anytime I see yellow and black together, I get excited..

After I attempted and horribly might I add, to take pictures we were done with one ride and we continued walking. Until my Mom saw this…

See it is one of my Mom’s favorite rides.. so we went on it again. Hey say what you will about it but I deep down, do really love it.

Afterwards, we went on HM, again. Then we stopped here for some pictures. I’ve always wanted to take a picture here. But never did for whatever reason…

Now I have many pictures to say that I finally took pictures there. Yay..

Now my Mom had her heart set on riding the riverboat. So we get in line and the man says “sorry, its broken” My Mom looked heartbroken. I felt bad.

So we kept walking and we see Chip and Dale, and since I haven’t seen them since I was little we decided to get in line.

Some of these pictures are my favorite for whatever reason.

We met Chip and Dale and took our pictures. Then took a siesta and took more pictures.

It was a good thing that we went on SM last time because it was down today.

I ate my pretzel and we did some walking and shopping then decided to venture off to Adventureland.

We went on Pirates again and clearly everyone had the same idea. Towards the end of the ride we got backed up.. Oh a good picture opportunity.

We were done with Pirates and we decided to grab FP for Jungle Cruise.
11:24 with a 12:05 return time…

Now to find something to do for half an hour.
My Mom wanted to ride the Magic Carpets so we got in line. We were the oldest people in line, it was a little funny to see.

We were done and I had one more thing on my list… Orange bird cup.
Success!!!

Our FP window opened in 3 minutes so we ventured over there.

While standing there we noticed that the FP return line was longer then the standby line… not sure what was happening here. But by the time we got in line they seemed to have it in order.

My favorite joke they said is still something I say to my class all the time “We hear there are people cutting in line…. Please stop. Or we will take your scissors away”
I tell my kiddos that all the time and they look at me like I’m crazy.

Apparently I didn’t take any pictures, couldn’t find any on my camera. Opps.
So we walked around to Main Street with the plan of eating at Casey’s but at 12:40 the time was crazy busy and nowhere to sit. Surprise right ha ha so we decided Pecos Bill. Which means that we can get on the train. So my Mom goes up the steps slowly and I think that I can take the steps quicker. Um no. On the second to last step at the top, I miss the step and come crashing down on my knee then I stopped myself with my hand and my orange bird cup goes flying and rolling around. :rotfl: :upsidedow I look around to see if someone saw me popcorn:::laughing:and I don’t think anyone did so I wait for my Mom. When I told her I fell she just looked at me and laughed. I always fall so it’s never a surprise. Of course it hurt, falling on cement hurts. We get on the train and I text my Dad “I fell down” and he replies “Ha picture?” um no I didn’t get a picture of myself falling down and it didn’t leave any physical damage, just emotional ha ha.

We get off in Frontierland and make our way over to Pecos Bill for lunch. We join the hordes of people in line and get our tray. I grabbed a cup of cheese and pickle chips. Happiness yay!
So we get guided to the area by the bathroom and are given a table for 2.
Yay lunch.

When we were done eating we decided it was about time to head out and rest. But first we wanted another dole whip.

By now it is 2:20 so we decide to call it an afternoon. But first I was going to grab a fastpass for meeting the Princesses and maybe do some shopping.
I used the money my grandpa gave me for Christmas and bought a Dooney and Burke present for myself.

I love it!!

I told my Dad want I want for Christmas…

He obviously said no.

My Mom decides to sit down outside while I continue shopping. She wasn’t feeling so good. So I tell her I will go check the return time for meeting the Princesses and either get a FP or not.
So I leave her there and walk over. While trying to navigate the parade people.
I turn the corner and guess who I see.
Mary Poppins and another cute little penguin.
But my Mom wasn’t nearby but the handler was nice enough to take a picture for me.

We grabbed our FP. The return time was 6:20 so we had enough time to go home and get a little rest and sadly start packing.

After some packing we decided to head back around 5:30. So the singing on the bus story begins here.
We got on a bus that was packed, luckily we got seats in the way back. The 2 rows in front of us were a family that I wouldn’t say they were loud but they were really excited. After overhearing their conversation I figured out that it was their first day at the Magic Kingdom. I get that excited on the first day too.

The Dad was explaining to the kids what they would see then he started talking about It’s a Small World and of course he starts singing. Then my Mom and I start quietly singing to ourselves. He then explained to his kids that no matter what you do, that song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. I smiled and agreed and he looked at me and laughed. He said “Well it could be a worse song.” Then he starts singing The Wheels on the Bus. I laugh and tell him that I am a Pre-K teacher and I sing that song at least once a day. So he keeps singing and then I start singing along. And before you know it the person in the front row of the bus turns around to see all the people singing and smiles.

It’s nice to finally get a picture of the entrance without rain.

By the time we get through bag check and everything it is 6:20 and it’s time to meet the Princesses. Yay!
This time however there were no Photopass people there so all the pictures were taken by me or my mother. You’ve been warned ha ha.

This is currently the picture that pops up when my Mom calls. I’m not sure if she was talking or attempting to smile but it turned out funny.

Then when we were done the Photopass lady walks in. She was nice enough to offer to take a picture with my camera.

We get out and realize the wait for Mickey is only 5 minutes so we decide to go. Haven’t met the man himself yet and it’s the last day of our trip, we have to.

On the way out we got a present for my cousin Elisa. Since she is graduation college. We got an ear graduation hat with her name on it. I hope she likes it.

By now it’s almost 7 and we decide to get something to eat. Gotta use up those dining credits before tomorrow.
We end up at Cosmic Rays and get the fall back cheeseburger.

And a cup of cheese for my fries of course.

Now we really only had one thing planned for the evening. I was meeting a friend, Allison. She works with me in Rogers. Not in the same building, but we both work in Pre-K and when we found out we were going to be in Disney at the same time I knew we would have to meet up.

So after dinner we had about 30 minutes until I planned to meet her. So we walked, did some picture taking, and people watching. I did a lot of being sad. I always get a little emotional on the last day.

At 7:45 I made my way over to the “front of the castle” yeah that was where we were meeting, I was just hoping I could. :)

I did!!

We talked for a bit and I finally met her fiancé and the friends that she came up with. We talked about going back to work on Monday and how their drive was.

After 10 minutes of talking we hugged bye and said we would see each other at the next work meeting.
I grabbed one more picture before we moved on.

Yeah only 10 minutes later and that’s what it ended up looking like. The sun set fast.

We started a new tradition. On the last Magic Kingdom day the last ride we ride is the Peoplemover. A nice little close out to the trip. :sad1::)

By the time we were done and we made our way back to Main Street it was 8:30. The plan was to go into Confectionery buy some candy and then finish up shopping at the Emporium. I used my last snack credits on a rice crispy treat and my Mom got sour candy. After some maneuvering and squeezing our way around people we made it to the Emporium. Since the parade was starting I hoped the crowd wouldn’t be too bad. Ha! Fail again. It was crazy busy.
It was the last hoorah of shopping. Magnets for me, luggage tag for me, shirt for my god daughter, towel for my best friend, all a bunch of other stuff. By now the parade was almost over so my Mom and I snaked our way across the street to the flag pole and decided that we were wanted a different spot for the fireworks.
We ended up seating on the curb in front of the train station.

With a lot of other people.

The fireworks started and I may or may not have cried a little.

By the time they were done and we waited the crowd out a bit it was 10:30 and since the park closed at 11 we figured we made good time.
I took one look down Main Street and the castle then off we went.
Now I did tear a little on the bus ride home that I will admit to.

Since we had 1 credit each left I decided I would go use them while my Mom packed.
I came back with food and we finished packing for the night.

I use my Mickey straw almost every other day, that’s how much I love it.

My Mom’s cupcake.

I had a minor issue when packing though. I couldn’t find my house key. ANYWHERE!!:scared1: I was panicking a little. I called people and tried to find a way to get an extra house key so I could get inside my house. I figured I had until tomorrow to figure it out.

So we finished packing , my suitcase was packed and when I weighed it, it said 45 pounds, not bad. I finally went to get some sleep at 11. But we had one more dining reservation for tomorrow…
