VWL vs. BCV

I've been thinking a lot lately about which property would work out better for me when I can eventually afford to buy. So I was hoping for some outside opinions because I just keep going in circles. :)

I  the Wilderness Lodge. If I was rich I would built a house that looked just like it. The whole ambiance is relaxing and wonderful and... just... decadent. :cloud9: The major drawback for me is the distance it is from everything else and that taking a bus or a sloooow boat doesn't always work for my go-go vacationing attitude (which, to be honest, is a carry-over from my rather high stress normal life).

I also  Epcot. As much as I enjoy MK, Epcot wins the my favorite park contest every time. I love walking around the WS (yes, I admit, I am often sampling adult beverages at the time ;) ) and I have a deep and nerdy affection for Spaceship Earth. I don't mind the decor of the BCV (I'm not such a fan of BWV, which is why it's not included in the competition) and the whole Boardwalk area is really nice, especially at night. The main selling point here is the proximity to Epcot where I can just walk to the International Gateway and not wait on anything but the speed of my feet. But I'm not passionate about the actual BCV the way I am about VWL.

Such a predicament! Do you go with the resort you love but that might bring out the impatience monster in you or do you go with the resort that's super convenient to your park of choice but that doesn't move you in your soul? :confused3 How did you guys decide?

You can't beat BCV for it's second-to-none location right outside of Epcot. Since this is my wife's favorite park, it's very convenient to stroll out your room right into Epcot.

For overall theme, VWL is great! It's a very relaxing resort that I can just spend time at.

I faced the same dilemma and just bought both!

You might just find that DVC allows you to slow down and actually enjoy some stress-free vacations if that is your goal. Knowing that we are going back often keeps us from the go-go attitude and VWL fits nicely into that.

It sounds like the location of BCV could well be the deciding factor for you. If you like EPCOT that much, and want to be able to get there without waiting for a boat, bus or monorail then you can't beat BCV.

Also, if you think you'd enjoy the F&W Festival, having a home resort at BCV is a big advantage.

I think you should be looking at BCV. You can always visit WL and take advantage of the amenities there even if staying at BCV. VWL is able to be booked at the 7 month window pretty regularly other than Christmas time. So it's not like you would be shut out of staying there.

Given your self-professed impatience, I think BCV is the way to go for you.

I would have to go with BCV....although it is very close. what puts it over the top is the proximity to epcot and DS. Also hands down the pool is the best!!
