We got back on Monday from a 5N trip to VWL. It was my DH, Myself and our 2 DD 14 & 11. This was
our second time staying at VWL, the first time was back in 2001. We were happy with our room, 3536 a
1BR looking over the bus stop/woods. We like the WL, but we have decided that it will be a long time
before we come back as we are all prefer our home resorts of BWV and BCV. The only thing I like better
about WL vs the Boardwalk is the commons rooms in the Villas. I loved sitting in the rockers and we also
sat in the spike room once or twice.

The pools were a little chilly, I was surprised as we swam in the Pop Century pool and it was much
warmer. We had fun with the watercraft. My DD14 took the sailboat out one afternoon, and then tipped
it over. They were quick to “rescue” her - she said they were all so nice and her embarrassment quickly
faded. The recreation crew/lifeguards had been so happy when she took it out, as they said that people
rarely go sailing. After she was returned to the dock she went with my husband on a Searacer. When
they went to pay, they were told it was a comp. That’s the kind of stuff that Disney does best, the
unexpected surprises. Another day my DH thought it would be fun for us to go out on the canopy boat,
well it was broken so they let us have a pontoon for the same price - we were out for about 45-50 min and
they only charged us for 30 (at the canopy boat rate). A couple of days later we rented the pontoon boat
again for about 1 1/2 and were charged the full rate, we were very happy with the CM at the dock. On our
last day we rented the double surrey and rode to FW. Holy Moly is it hard to pedal that thing. We had to
pedal the whole way up and back, except for the last little bit near the quiet pool where we could
FINALLY coast.! We rented one once before at the old Dixie Landings, my DH said anyone who rents
those things three times must be a fool. LOL, he said the second time you forget how hard it was the first
time, but there is no excuse the 3rd time. We will rent individual bikes next time.

We at Breakfast at WC, we had great service, great fun and antics and great food. I would rate our meal a
10! Our servers name was Sean and he was great, as was the other waiters who play with you as they
would go past our table.

We ate at RF twice and were mostly pleased. I thought the pizza was lousy.

We had a great trip (as always) and although it was short, is was great to get away from winter. We did
not spend much time in the parks. We went to DTD, DQ, Winter/Summerland Golf, enjoyed the resort
and spent a little bit of time in Epcot and MK.

Glad to answer any questions.

Hey DEdixie,
We are from Wilmington also. Just love VWL. Going back in May for first trip to the villas. I really liked RF. It was nice to have a restaraunt to get a small snack or quick meal inside the resort. We liked getting the refill in drinks and a brownie or popcorn while sitting by the pool.

Great report! Strangely enough, one of our best vacations at WDW was when we stayed at the WL. My DW and I own our points at the VWL. We've never used them there. We don't really plan on using them there, either. We just love BWV and almost always want to stay there. But I'm woodsy so I do love WL and its special ambiance.

Thanks again. :wave2:

Degli -- Hi Neighbor! We should do a meet sometime. A bunch of us had once talked about going to Stanleys, just never got it off the ground.

Thanks for the replys everyone.

I loved the VWL resort, theming, music, CM, etc. I would walk around thinking that the resort has such a great theme to it and how glad I was that we were there. But when I asked my family where they wanted to stay next everyone wanted to go back home. We really, really love the boardwalk resorts for the proximity to Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk itself.
