For the first time in the 9 years we've owned DVC (at BCV,) we are staying at VWL...down here now for Thanksgiving and I have to say...it's awesome! I've read so many posts of how everyone loves this resort. Being from Michigan, it holds even more appeal for us, especially this time of the year...it feels like we're up north! The sites, smells and Christmas music make it even more special (doesn't even bother us that there's a chill in the air.) Lucky are those of you who own this property. It's wonderful!

So glad you now "get it"
Cozy up by the Fireplace and enjoy every magical minute :santa:

Its one of my home resorts and I wish I was there for the holidays. Enjoy!

Glad you are enjoying it!. We went back in March, our first time at WDW,we stayed there and completely fell in love with the place, we will be arriving Friday, cannot wait!!!.

Yeah! :thumbsup2 So glad to hear you're enjoying my favorite home away from home. It really is a magical place especially during the holidays. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

It's our favorite and our home resort. We absolutely love it and don't mind when we can't get a room some place else. Though, we do have things we like about all the DVC resorts. VWL is small and under the radar for most DVCers. We are staying here too this week and enjoying the cool weather.

Thanks for posting your impressions. I'm so glad you are really taking the opportunity to absorb the ambiance and charm of this resort! :thumbsup2

We've stayed at every DVC on-site at WDW and I have to say that every one of them has some very strong positive attributes. Sure we like some a bit more than others, but I can honestly say that we've enjoyed every DVC stay we've had.

And now you've gotten me even more fired up (if that's possible) for our upcoming Christmas trip to VWL. Awesome!! :santa:

Glad you are enjoying VWL. We own there and have spent most of our DVC vacations there. It holds a special place in our hearts for sure.

I echo what the others have said. It's a very special resort under normal circumstances (serenity, theming, intimacy), but during the holidays, it becomes a magical place to stay. Don't forget to walk over to FW to take in the RVer's displays. Some of them are quite elaborate and often whimsical! :thumbsup2

So glad you're enjoying VWL! WL is our favorite WDW resort. Our first Holiday stay there is coming up in 5 days & we can't wait to get there & see the Christmas tree in the lobby. Happy Thanksgiving!

we did go over to FW...took a boat ride over there yesterday to check it out and decided to have lunch at Trail's End. What a pleasant surprise! Great menu! All my son wanted was the cornbread and they brought him an entire loaf with the most wonderful sweetened creamy butter...it was heaven! I'm looking forward to another trip for lunch...they do a great job making ordinary dishes a little more interesting!

yea trail end is one of the few reasonable priced restaurants in WDW.

thanks - have not been there in years and going to BLT next month - Trail's end is just a boat ride away...:wave2:

also love VWL - next year hoping to stay there!

The Trails End dinner buffet is a huge hit with my family. DGC 7, 8 and 9 each find something they love, and when the kids are happy, we all are!:thumbsup2

Now you know why almost half of our 700 points are there! Love it, especially at Christmas time. And it is the only resort that my husband would stay at. (or the campground). We stay at others usually in the summer.
But love its activities available and ease to the Fort.

We are DVCers with BCV being our home and we love it there! That said, I am strongly considering adding on at VWL for holiday time visits!
