We are going to WDW for Food and Wine in 2008. We are hoping to go to either BV or VWL (OKW is home and we have reserved there already just in case). If we could get either which would you suggest. I do like the proximity of the BV to Epcot but I understand parking (we rent a car) is difficult. We've stayed at BCV last year and liked it but we haven't stayed at either BV or VWL and thought we'd try somewhere new. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and Happy New Year! :woohoo:  :cool1:

If by BV you mean Beach Club Villas, I'd take that. The vast majority of the Food and Wine Festival takes place at Epcot, and the Beach Club is within walking distance of Epcot, which is much more convenient than taking a bus to and from the Wilderness Lodge.

If BV is Boardwalk, I'd also pick that over WVL for Food and Wine.

Sorry. To clarify, I meant Boardwalk Villas. Is there a concern about parking there? I remember we tried to park there one night to visit the resort and couldn't find a place to park.

It's usually not a problem if you are staying there. There is a lot that is just for people who are staying at the resort. Folks who are visiting have to (or are supposed to) take pot luck. Your best bet is just to use the valet parking. We stay every year for Food & Wine and never have had a problem with the car - we just hand the keys to the valet guy. Valet parking is free for DVC members at the resort.

We were at the BWV in October 2007 for Food & Wine. Very pleased to see that parking was not a problem. Anyone not actually staying at the BWI/BWV was being directed to the lot across the street, leaving plenty of space for the BW hotel guests.

This was not true for any of our previous stays. When I complained in the past, I was just advised to valet park as it was free for members. (However, I prefer not to trust a rental with a valet, so that was not a good option for me).

I also think the free ME program helps - not as many guest renting cars.

If you want to give the BWV a try, don't let parking deter you. I think you will be fine.

we were also at BWV for F&WF '07, & parking was no prob. as a matter of fact, we found it a bit better than other times, as they had the entrance without a guardshack "manned" by another guard checking BW IDs. we had to show both the window parking pass & room ID to enter the lot. :thumbsup2

F&W festival is a cool event and nothing gives you a closer walk than BWV. It is just fun to be able to walk back an forth between Epcot and BWV.

BCV is probably as close, but if F&W is your theme then BWV I think is the more adult theme with the boardwalk pubs and mircro-breweries.

Excellent! Just the information I was looking for. BWV it is then. (If we can get in at the 7 month window.) Keep your fingers crossed. :cool2:
