So we are back from 6 nights at the VWL (2 weeks ago we were at YC for 7 nights which was great but no report although any questions, please ask).

Being I was just at WDW a few weeks ago we threw planning to the wind!
Arrived by ME and had no problems...we had the same driver for the 4th time...Mario, great guy.

First day we went to MGM dined at the Brown Derby which was lovely then hit the Great Movie Ride and waited for the Osbourne lights to be switched on which was really fun. I like the "dancing lights". We saw the Harlem Gospel singers for a Christmas performance which was fun, they are there until 12/30. Went on Star Tours and did some Christmas shopping. Time to head back to WL. Our groceries were there waiting so no need for an early breakfast and we ordered a bunch of things for the week.
That night I sent my Fairy Godmailers out to 3 kids......

Day 2 off to the MK via the new boat! I am one of those people that think the boats and the monorail are just as fun as some of the attractions so all aboard!
We headed right to Pirates, then HM, Small World & Buzz Lightyear.......grabbed seats for the 3pm parade. After the parade we went to Epcot and got our FP to Soarin', with the wait for Soarin' we headed into Imagination, the Land, Mission Space...time for the green side & then the orange side and rode Nemo. Went to Soarin' which is never a let down and then had dinner in Coral Reef which I was hesitant about because our last experience was gross! It started off well, perfect table against the tank, lots of divers doing stunts and saw the cutest thing...a diver came right up to the glass opened a pouch pulled out what looked like paper and it was! Laminated paper that said happy 10th birthday to the girl at the table next to us....really great idea for birthdays, engagements anyway...Food was really good.....had the shrimp on seaweed salad and the Mahi Mahi...some delicious chocolate creation for dessert. After dinner went into Mexico and headed to the Boardwalk for an after dinner drink at the Bellvue Room. Took a taxi back to the VWL.

Day 3 lunch at Kona then off to the AK. Right to Kilamanjaro Safari for FP, tons of the Dream People especially this one guy who we noticed last time. While waiting for the safari we went and saw the gorillas and watched some drummers. So many animals this time it was really fun! Great pictures!
Dinner at Jinko's.....flatbread with goat cheese and artichokes, black cod and unbelievable wines!!!! delicis....

Day 4 MVMCP!!!!! and yes Jack sparrow was there chatting and having pictures taken!
Time to unpack...work tomorrow. Part 2 coming. Any questions please ask.:)
Highlights the party, Epcot and my idea that I do indeed need so pin buying intervention!

Hi! /Would like to get your thoughts on the VWL. We always stay at the BWV; but I'm surpising my 11yr.old with a quick trip at the end of June and could only get a studio at the VWL.

We both LOVE Epcot, and I'm afraid we're going to miss that short walk back to the BW each night. So, I need to be sold on the VWL. How was it?

We bounce back and fourth between VWL & BCV's. We also love the easy access to Epcot and the pathway from International gateway is so pretty at night.
VWL has it's own flavor. It's is fabulous in its own right. If you've never been inside, the decor is outstanding. We it more tranquil and peaceful than the broadwalk area. Lots of trees. You'll love it. The pool is nice, a little small.

Thanks Eliza61! I'm so torn between keeping my WL ressie or hoping for my waitlist at the BW to come through. I keep telling myself "change is good" and I'm really starting to lean towards giving the WL a chance.

BTW - noticed you're a south Jersey girl. North Jersey here - born & raised. Stuck living in MA for now. How far south? Brother lives in Freehold; I used to rent every summer in Avon.:thumbsup2

Hey Camster,

Not far from Avon at all, we go there in the summer all the time. I go back and forth all the time. I love the Epcot area resorts and I did miss it some nights especially since we usually go in the summer time and nothing beats people watching on the Broadwalk or trying the surrey bikes.
I think you'll like the WL, it's just a totally different flavor. Don'tcha love these types of choices. Have a great time.

I would say give the VWL a try. It is a beautiful property and you do have the perk of the electrical parade, gyser......Artist Point is a great restaurant and the bus to Epcot is very easy. If we have extra time we sometimes take the boat to MK then monorail to TTC and then onto Epcot.

Let us know what you decide....
