We just got back from our first stay at our home VWL and it did not disapoint. We loved every inch of the Lodge and are thrilled with our decision to make it our home.
The Good
Our accomodations. We had 2, 2 bedrooms on the 5th floor, lake view, right beside each other. I didn't give it the white glove treatment or anything but the room seemed to be immaculate. No issues whatsoever for the week. We could even seen the Electrical Water Pageant from our room. Also both rooms were ready before noon on Sun
Transportation-We had good luck all week with boats and busses. Never seemed to have more than a 10 min wait or so and they were never crowded. After MVMCP we waited for one boat but that's to be expected. We never took the bus to MK as we prefer the boat. DME was also very prompt when we arrived in Orlando.
Dining-I have both lunch and breakfast at WCC. We had extra table service credits so did breakfast at the Cafe and it was great. Lots of antics, ketchup, straws etc going on. My parents had never been here and they really enjoyed it. We also had lunch at Roaring forks and the sandwiches and fresh salads drew raves from our group. DH is still talking about the roast beef and blue cheese.
Decorations-I think the best on property, everything felt so warm and cozy.
Crowds-It felt like we had the place to ourselves. We were never in a crowded elevator, the pool was at maybe 5% capacity anytime we passed. And there never seemed to be anyone in the villa lobby. It was magical.
The Bad-Rained out at MVMCP. It was sold out on 10/14 and rained on and off all night long
The only rain we had all week so it was a little frustrating. But Wishes and the parade were awesome! Santa even asked if it was my DS's first Christmas. We were a group of 12 in the hub in personalized Santa Hats if you saw us
The Ugly-Our Le Cellier experience for CP. We are all huge fans of Le Cellier. DH and I are alumni of the International Program as are my sister and BIL who are served in Le Cellier. My sister's manager still works there and they have stayed in touch. We had a 5:40 ADR for the 8:15 CP show. Now I knew a group of 12 would take a little longer than normal but we were seated at 6 and did not receive our entrees until 7:20!!! And our server was almost non existant after the apps arrived. We all had to wolf down our entrees and took our desserts to go. We have always had great service at this restaurant and were beyond disapointed. DH went back after the CP and talked to the manager and we were refunded all 12 dining credits. I cannot stress enough how important it is to talk to a manager ASAP when there is a problem. They cannot do anything after the fact. We will definitely go back to Le Cellier as I considered this an anomoly.
We moved to POR for our last 2 nights and we really enjoyed it. We had a great room right across from the Old Man Island in Magnolia bend and loved the boat ride back from the Marketplace.
Any questions I will be happy to answer as best I can.
