VWL Groupies & Lovers Thread (Special Collectors Edition 2.5) updated 2 February 2025

We have our first stay at BRV in a dedicated 2 bedroom Halloween week. 🎃 I love the remodel and have been waiting to stay here! We always visit WL, esp during the holiday season.

1. Any activities during the night of Halloween at the resort? (Our last Halloween resort stay was at GF and they had lots of activities and meet and greets planned. it was very fun!)

2. We really want a pool view and a murphy bed. What requests would you put in to attempt to make that happen?
1. We have never been there during Halloween, but from what I remember reading from previous posts, maybe some of the characters come around and hand out candy? Someone with better knowledge of this should answer
2. Not sure about the Murphy bed, but a pool view should be requested just like that. I would request 2 weeks prior to arrival directly to WL.

So Resort TV is streaming from WDW and they were just showing Voices of Liberty and OMG I was bawling. It was so beautiful. It really got to me. This is the link and it starts off with the show. Just so amazing.
I was watching it when it 1st started today. I commented on how I think VOL would make a good fit to sing at the Super Bowl. They sing our anthem with such grace and dignity. No disrespect to anyone, but IMO, that song needs no runs, or extra stuff added to it. I think they would do an amazing job!
I too choke up when they sing too

That was you that said that?! I saw that comment.

I totally agree with you about the National Anthem! I thought the Simpsons made this point the best, years ago.

P.S. Billy Joel once sang it at a Yankee game straight through, not a single embellishment. I cheered!!

Happy Independence Day!!!
To
All Who Serve Our Nation Or Have Served, Thank You!!!
You Are The Folks Who Have And Still Make Our Nation Free And Allow Us To Keep Our Independence
And Thank You To The Families Of Those Who Have Served Or Are Serving Now. You Make The Sacrifice Too:grouphug:

I love this picture. I bought America on Parade t-shirt with this picture from WDW 50th vault collections and it's my go-to for patriotic shirts.

Do you watch their streams often? What is your name on there? Mine is Ally S but I don't comment too much. Mostly ninja watch.
I do on occasion. I really like their positive approach to walking the parks and such. They remind me of the way Lou Mongello approaches his podcasts too. Always upbeat! I may have posted one other time on their site. Im not very creative in my name, so its my name listed Jimmy Whitesell

Mine is very creative either lol. I really like them and Ear to Ear Magic. He is very positive also and makes everyone feel welcome like they do. I used to watch a different stream before I found them and left because the guy just was so negative, talked bad about people in the parks, didn't even actually talk about Disney and was just overall a big downer.

What does this picture have to do with Disney? Well, many of us find a bit of comfort and solace in Disney, in our trips to the parks, and in our stays at, say, our home resort. For me, VWL always represented peace and tranquility, a certain serenity that helped salve the hectic day running around the World. I have no immediate plans to visit Disney, to see our beloved Lodge, but I do have a small piece of heaven right off my deck. Taken two mornings ago...

I'm sincerely jealous!

Signed, a city girl who should have been a country girl

Scenes like this do bring up memories of WL. I live or use to live in the country. I sort of have my own little piece of Heaven right in my side and back yards. Urban sprawl is taking over where I live but Im holding on tooth and nail to keep what's left of our ancestral land. Seeing scenes like this evoke emotions in me that tell me there is a God among us. America is so beautiful a land and I have tendencies to forget that when I start thinking about other far off places. So much left for me to see right here in our great country, so little time

Found this this morning Youtube, though its not WL loop music, it does have some similar type songs
Field of Dreams End Credits song that is featured at WL is on here. Another song from Disneys Pearl Harbor, "Tennessee" is on here as well. I tear up every time I hear that song. One, it floods memories from that movie and the tragedy of that day, but secondly, and more on a personal level, our daughter loved that movie. She had been taking music lessons from a local teacher, and she was aging out at 18 with the teacher, so it made for a bittersweet moment at her last recital when she played that song on the piano.

So enjoy the loop below if you so wish, The Land at Epcot

Jimmy, Your comment reminds me of the retired veterinarian Dr. Lee with his "Out on the Ranch" channel. He has a rather large plot of land down in TX, often puts out glimpses at the wildlife on it through trail cams he has mounted all over.

Recently in the areas around his property housing complexes have been popping up and the town now plans to build walking paths along and through his property, to the point that he's concerned about families getting hurt by the features of the land, such as a small old dam that was built and will call to those looking for adventure. (He's tried to fight it, but without a good lawyer he won't win). While he's torn about leaving it's clear that he's gearing up to sell this little piece of heaven that he's been on for decades.

Our community is about a good 20 minutes outside of the nearest town. Even though it adds a lot of travel time it has been nice being out in the middle of nowhere. Sadly that is changing. They are building another community behind ours that will be large enough to have schools. Also saw a big sign pop up for another community going up in the area. Now there is also talk that a massive community will be built about 15 minutes from us that they say will be larger than the city of Phoenix! Eh. Not liking this. First of all I feel bad for all of the animals and how it will effect them. Also though living in AZ where in the heck do they think they are gonna get the water for all of these people?! It's just nuts.
