VWL at 7 months

We are booking OKW from 11/5-11/13, but are thinking about trying for VWL for the first few days. Historically speaking, is this hard to get?

We stayed at WL for our honeymoon (which my husband loved) and I thought it might be fun to try VWL for our anniversary trip

It's possible if you call the very first day as soon as they open. That is Food and Wine and all resorts are busy but not as busy as the Epcot Resorts will be during that time.

The hardest time to get VWL is during the Christmas holidays when decorations go up.

I booked a 2-Bedroom Villa at VWL for a week for Oct. 2, 2010, which also was during F&W and had no problem getting it at the 7 month mark.

Now, my next target is to get a Grand Villa at the 7 month mark for September, hopefully OKW or AKV. Wonder how that will go.

I called on a whim two years ago to see if we could switch from SSR to VWL two weeks before we left for a trip in December and was able to get a 1 bedroom. Much to my surprise it was available for the entire week. I think if we were able to get in at what's probably a bit busier time of year for VWL then it's definitely possible.
