VR a celebration of rememberance:30th anniversary shouldn't you get to know us first?

I can't believe I forgot the kids knew. I am even planning on making one of those count downs myself! lol I remember asking if you minded if I copied it. Tell ya, I am loosing it. :lmao:

A night in the hotel at the airport would be nice. My friends did that once. (not by chose he got too sick to get on the plane after their cruise.) She & the kids loved it.
You sound like me, I usually get my way also. If we can afford it, he says just fine by him.

You have way too many things to worry about to remember whether my kiddos know or not!!! I can't remember what I've had for breakfast somedays so it's all good. You are NOT losing it!

As for the poor fellow, I feel for him. THAT is my biggest fear about going on a cruise and the exact reason why I have not been on one yet. My DH thinks the best vacation would be a relaxing cruise surrounded by free food. I think it's a motion sickness episode waiting to happen. Did they go through a storm or something or was he just prone to motion sickness?

Actually, at first they thought it was something that he ate. He tried some type of seafood he had never tried before, and got sick shortly after. But it lasted over 24 hours. Others at their table got sick shortly after dinner as well, which is why they thought it was the food. So, no it wasn't motion sickness.

And thanks for the support so I don't think I am loosing it. :cool1:

Well at least he was able to enjoy some or most of the trip and it wasn't like he was motion sick all of the time. My DH started getting sick on DAY 3 of our last Disney trip and NEVER really recovered from whatever he had. Now he normally has some stomach issues but that was a bit much and we were so sad that at least two days I toured by myself with the boys. I know you can get sick anywheres but you spend so much money on a vacation it would be nice to be healthy!!!! :confused3

My mom always tries to convince me to try out a cruise (it's her favorite type of vacation) by saying, "Ah well they have little barf bags on every level by the elevators if you need them!" :scared1: :lmao: That, IN NO WAY, convinces me to spend the money so I can use them!!! :rotfl2: Maybe one day I'll be brave enough but I told DH that we need to go with at least one other adult couple in case I'm bound to the room for the entirety of the trip so he still has someone to talk to!

Much love!! Hope you have a great day!!!

I know a guy.... that can sell you barf bags and a sun lamp for way less than the cost of a cruise. :lmao:

I'm going to post some DIY stuff I've done. Some of it I will have to redo because of smoke damage, but I plan on doing them the same. The photo's will probably be my next post.

Some of my DIY items. I have several "license plates" for my wheelchair, that RustmanFan from the creative DISigns made for me, but she requests her work not be reposted. RustManFan's disigns are now posted as she doesn't mind, I had misunderstood You can see them thru her link if you want. They are phineas & ferb Nov 12 Mom's wheels, Disney vacation club Mom's ride, castle Dee's carriage, Tink Dee's wings, Monsters Inc, Mom's Monster wheels, Boo Mom's monster wheels, and disboards.com Mom's Ride. She does such incredible work. As do all of the creative people on that board. I also have an old "license plate" for my chair from the mouseforless website I will try to remember to post that later, as I don't have a photo of that yet.
Below you will see music cd, paperdoll, and the logo for DH & I desert party. DH did the cd labels. I found the paper dolls online, as well as the mickey minnie desert clipart then added my own writing.

Cute cute things!!!! Your family/friends are going to love them!!!

I just realized there is something in there I didn't create. The bookmark was done by Marion (RustManFan) on the creative disigns board. I am extremely grateful for her remarkable talents.

So... unrelated to our trip, but ... yesterday my triplets turned 21!! I can't believe it. Now they will really be able to enjoy food & wine this year!!! I am blessed all of them are very thoughtful and appreciative, but I must share what one of them did...

with a note that reads: "Thank you for 21 Amazing Inspiring, Loving Years. Love always, Doug" He addressed it to both his Dad & I. The note even got his Dad choked up. As for me...yeah a few tears.

Wow you sure did raise him right!!!!! I love those fruit arrangements!!! And that one is chocolate dipped!! :cloud9: How sweet of him to think of you guys on HIS birthday!!!

I love fruit arrangements too, but I truly wished he hadn't spent the money. The note was the most meaningful gift. (althought, the fruit is nearly gone. :confused3 ):confused3

He is my disney kid. He applied for the college program, was put on the waiting list, jumped thru hoops with his school, (they don't offer the program, but was working with him, and considering bringing to the college in the future), but then in the end he didnt' get in. :( but he is considering trying for the end of his senior year, with the hopes it will roll into a full time job. :cloud9: BTW, I meant to mention on your thread, I t hink it is cool your son dressed as a disney college program kid. :goodvibes too cool!

I think it's cool too that he chose to go as a Disney college program kid even if I kinda influenced his decision. :rotfl:

Update- tried to change resorts today, as we are at our 7month window for dvc resorts reservations other than our "home" resort. We were unable to get our 1st choice for Nov. 9-12 at Boardwalk Villa Gran Villa/studio. So, we got put on the waiting list with the stipulation that we must have both the GV and the studio (so DD BF gets his own studio). We were able to get a studio for DDbf at our home resort of SSR for the dates.
It would have been nice to try a GV at BWV, and walk to food and wine thru the International Gateway. (although, that is probably exactly why there is nothing available. lol) but SSR is always a nice experience, and walking distance to DTD.

So, on the 12th I will call again and try to get Bay Lake Tower for the remainder of our trip. Hopefully, that will work out.

On another note, 2 of the college kids have gotten their schedules. DD has no classes on Fridays. Initially DS#2 was off on Fridays too, but had to rearrange his schedule a bit, now has classes until 1pm. Now, we just have to wait for DS#1 to finalize his schedule. If he gets what he is putting in for he will also have Fridays off. But, we shall see later this week. Then on to the heavy duty VR planning.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend. And hopefully for us New Englanders, spring is here to stay. :hippie:

Sorry that they didn't have the resort you wanted!! I do think that weekend will be a bit busy with Veteran's Day and the Food and Wine Races. I would love to go down for a quick trip the weekend before you guys are going to be down there in order to see Food and Wine but I don't think that will happen. lol......

I'm glad that your kids are getting their schedules in and that so far all looks great for the trip!!!

How is your house coming along after the fire? I hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend!!! We had a great weekend with family and all. Testing is this week for our state so school is a bit crazy right now but once that is over, all eyes are on Disney!

Thanks! Veterans Day w/e is the last w/e for food and wine for 2012, so I knew it was a long shot getting a room at BWV for that w/e.
I forget how many days you are going for, but with Annual pass discounts on food etc. Maybe you could squeeze in annual passes, drive down, then you could squeeze in a F&W trip. :confused3 I love to try to squeeze extra trips in. One year we had a trip in July,(with the friend who just passed away), a trip for our Anniversary in Nov., then a spontanous trip with our kids friend & her Mom. (they needed an extra driver, other wise they couldn't go, so we took 2 cars with 3 drivers). That was an awesome year. Definately got our $ worth out of those AP's! :goodvibes That is the only time we have driven, but DH, myself, DD(8) & DS#2(21) all got AP's, so... maybe we will drive in the summer of 2013.

Just waiting for DS#1 to find out his fall schedule for sure then I can finalize the VR.

The house is almost back to normal. Long story short, the new dryer is too big for the area where the washer and dryer have been for over 50 years. Well, actually it is the new vent hose that takes up too much room. So, my husband has to rebuild the doors to be out farther. No big deal. The clean up is virtually done. Some extinguisher dust that was missed gets stirred up with the movement of the hose to the basement. And someone has to wash my kitchen windows & put the curtains back up, but other than that we are back to whatever normal is.

Well, it's Tuesday, 3 more days of testing, then you can really go goofy on the planning huh? :) Good luck with the testing. I have truly enjoyed reading your pj. Do you do any of the creative projects ( I know you did the calendar, but any others, like book marks)?

We had a calm Easter. Thank you for asking. My Dad invited my little one to an Easter Egg Hunt that took place on Saturday at his asst. living development. She had fun & I got to show her off in her Easter clothes. (something I was feeling a bit lonely about with my Mom's passing this past year. She loved to see the kids dressed nicely). That was nice. All the kids were home, that is always nice. We spent a couple hours with MIL, who had been in the hospital a few days the previous week, but is doing much better now.
Boy, it seems like I always have some bad news. But she IS doing well and THAT is good news. I am going to focus on the positive. :)
Glad you and your family had a nice Easter.

I have been pricing airfare for the November trip. :scared1: We have never paid this much before. one way is $171. I purchased 3 return flights already. I really hope they come down, that way I could use the Jetblue credits toward our flights down and it won't seem so bad. DH is convinced with it being an election year the rates price of gas is bound to come down, at least for a little while, in turn bringing the flight prices down. I hope he is right. I am getting very nervous. With 9 flights to buy that is a lot of money!!!

Well, the triplets all have their fall schedules. And...

2 do not have any classes on Fridays, and 1 has classes, but the latest one is out at 1pm. What that means for the planning is... I can officially book somewhere for the VR and book the flights out. :cool1:

Now we have to decide on the VR. DH is trying to talk me into the w/e before we leave for FLA. But, I have it in my heart that I want to renew the vows, then hop a flight to FLA. Plus, I find the airport to be such an unusual place to renew the vows. Something simple, putting the focus on the vows not the "event". Does that make sense? Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of flowers and pretty dresses, and pictures, etc. I just don't want the vows to get lost in the prettiness of everything else.
I think I will begin a list of pros and cons to having the VR the w/e before we leave. I would LOVE for anyone to join in and help me see both sides here.

Pros

We could get an earlier flight therefor spending more time in Disney

More of our friends and family could be there

We could renew in the same church we were originally married in.

Cons

Priest would have additional traveling.

possibilty of offending Parish priests having our original priest perform VR instead of him.

Would have to wait 1 week to board the plane

If inviting more friends and family that means must invite some we may prefer weren't there.

May make us miss those who are no longer with us even more.

We are going for 7 days this time and probably another week or so next year before this time. I'm trying to convince DH to do the AP's but he wants to go other places! :confused3 How dare him want to do other things besides Disney!!!!

Glad that your house is getting back to normal! It's great that you have a handyman for a husband. Otherwise making the dryer fit may have been a lot more costly!!!

Nah actually testing starts tomorrow....I'm not sure that I understand at all why we are testing Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday but I'm sure some soul much higher up than I am in the education department felt it would be a good thing. Most days I think they are crazy!!!

Believe me, I know about the whole airfare thing. Our flight last summer and this one are OUTRAGEOUS!!! I hope that when gas prices begin falling you will be able to get a better deal. NINE TICKETS is a lot!!!! :scared1: I can only imagine your bill!

YAY on getting fall schedules!!! Your list of pro's and con's looks good. I know that it will be a tough decision for everyone!

Good luck with the continued testing.

Schedules are in, now we have to decide what to do. DH is really afraid if we try to fly out the same day we have the vow renewal with a dinner, we will be rushed an nervous we are going to miss our flight, therefor not relax and enjoy the moment. So, after all that we are rethinking where/when to have the VR. We are the planners who never commit! hhahahaha
