VQ with Guardians?

Why does Disney still have a VQ for GOTG? Do they not want people rope dropping this ride? Would such cut into the sales of the ILLs or SPs for it?

It's really the biggest thrill ride in the park and people do want to ride it (otherwise the VQ wouldn't fill up so quickly). I'm HOPING that when the redesigned Test Track opens, that will get the VQ and they'll let Guardians go to ILL and Stand-by.

Since they don't have a Standby Queue open they have a VQ and a LLSP option. The VQ option provides all Guests with a free option and a Paid option. Appears quite fair to me. They may drop the VQ for GotG when TT 3.0 opens.

Its still pretty new by Disney standards and EPCOT doesn't have that many thrill rides and Test Track is closed so there's not as much for people to stand and wait for.
I could see it being VQ for a while still. They have also made it a relatively reasonably priced LLSP.


I know you didn't mention this but I get the feeling it may be on your mind...
It may seem like Disney ended TRON's VQ fast in comparison but since the ride did already exist somewhere else it never got quite as much hype plus the kinks were worked out in the other park so it doesn't go down much so it has a reliable per hour guest count.
And with it being at MK there are a ton of other attractions to let guests filter through including Tiana's which has the VQ.

I wonder if it’s because they don’t feel the line could handle a couple hour wait. We were there for spring break. Got in a line that was lined up outside. It only took us roughly 45 minutes to ride. I remember thinking then I don’t think there is anywhere to make the line go to be able to accommodate a 90+ minute wait.

Maybe if you’re looking at the entrance over towards the left they can install an outside queue similar to rockin rollercoaster. But I don’t know just how much space there really is there.

But I will admit, it is the best ride at Disney. So that could have something to do with it too.
