My first post... We would like to renew our vows at WDW on our tenth anniversary. I was wondering if anyone who has done this could comment on whether they would do it again, and if they had any tips or suggestions.
PrincessTigerLily, welcome to the Dis website!
My husband and I renewed our vows in October of 2004. We held our vow renewal on our 20th wedding anniversary. Would we do it all over again? You bet we would. With Disney's help, it was beyond magical,
~sigh.~
I shared a lot of details as I began planning my Fairy Tale Weddings vow renewl. You can read about it here on the Dis:
click here to read about my planning, and
click here to read about my vow renewal. I should note that neither of those trip reports are finished yet (
oh, how I wish they were).
I began in the "intimate" category but moved into the "custom" category as time moved forward. The actual planning of my vow renewal took about three months. My dinner party was held inside the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park. It began with a Handprint Ceremony and ended with a custom fireworks display. It was the most magical (and fun) night of my life. It was everything that I had ever dreamed it would be...and more.
I was considering renewing my vows this year on the
Disney Cruise Line, but my husband's job is too time-consuming and it's not looking like he can get the time off. Our next vow renewal will have to wait. I have read some nice things about vow renewals on the
Disney Cruise Line, and since my family hasn't taken a Disney cruise yet, I thought it would be fun to combine the two activities. I look forward to the day when I can do so.
There is a woman here on the Dis who has renewed her vows several times in WDW. I can't remember her username, but if you search the boards you will probably find a few of her posts. I think she's renewed her vows inside the Wedding Pavilion, at the Polynesian, and another location or two (Yacht Club? BoardWalk?). All of her vow renewals sounded lovely.
Have fun planning your own vow renewal. And make sure to share the details with us here on the Dis. Again, welcome (and congratulations!).
