Hi! When I got married in 2004 I REALLY wanted to get married at WDW but both my mom and now DH vetoed the idea. Well we are going to disney in 2009 for our DD's first trip and I would LOVE to do a vow renewal!! It will be just a couple months after our 5th anniversary.
Now I have been looking around and it seems to be that the cheapest wedding is $4000 is this the same for Vow renewals? I don't need anything fancy and we won't have many guests. My parents and some other family members are already planning to come on DD's first trip but I don't think too many will be there. Also I saw somewhere that 25 nights combined need to be booked? I don't think we will hit that since we won't have many people there.
Thanks for you help!

$4000 is the Escape and least expensive DFTW option. It would work for up to 18 guests. You only need 4 nights for the Escape weddings/vow renewals. The 25 nights is for the Wishes options which have much higher expense minimums as well. These boards are a wealth of info so check out planning journals and ask away. We are here to help as the DFTW website leaves a lot to be desired !

Hi :goodvibes

We are having a VR on our 5 year wedding anniversary next year! (Aug 2009)

The 25 nights is for the Wishes package, and even then they can work with you for the night minimums. We are having a Wishes VR, after weighting both options it would be much easier for us if we do the Wishes.

We had our vows renewed in the summer of 2006. We had zero guests, we did stay for 5 nights (at the BCV). If I remember correctly, the cost for the vowel renewal, etc., ran us $3,000 or so. We wanted it "private" and we still had the reception hall in the Yacht Club, the cake, photos and album, the limo, a violinist playing for just my wife and I while we had the cake and champagne....we had to pay for the preacher, he was great. We were married in 1993, and later that summer we honeymooned/vacationed at WDW, and we have returned often with our children and now even alone. To us, yes it was a lot of money, but it was first class all the way.

welcome! There is alot of great info /ideas here and lots of brides willing to share. we are planning a wishes VR for our 20th in 2010. good luck with all your planning....:goodvibes

Hi and welcome!
We're doing a vow renewal for our first trip to Disney too. Yes the Escape package is the cheapest option at $4000, but for that you get the venue, bouquet, boutinierre, violinist, photographer, limo, cake, champagne and 2 annual passes. It doesn't include dinner or the officiant. What many brides have done is have the ceremony at a downtown Disney hotel, or else the Swan or Dolphin (or Shades of Green if you qualify). That's a LOT less expensive, I believe. And you can still have a Disney theme.

Good luck!
Jil

Can you start using your annual passes for the trip of the Vow renewal, or is it for future trips? This might help me convince DH. Thanks for all the help.

Yes - you get the vouchers for the APs when you sign the contract for your VR, so you will be able to use the for your trip.
