Von's Grocery Delivered to PPH

I have scheduled Von's Grocery Delivery to the Paradise Pier Hotel next week on our arrival day. In the note, I asked for Von's to allow the bellman to sign for the sack. It should just be one, possible two grocery sacks.

Will they allow that to happen, or do I have to physically be there to have the groceries delivered? It's our check in day from 1-3, so I don't know that we'll even have a room at that time.

Anyone done this before?

I can not answer specifically for PP, but I did have Vons deliver 2 times to Hojo and both times the order was signed for by the front desk. Vons had no problem with me not being the one to take delivery. I would assume Vons would have no problem allowing PP bell service to sign for your delivery, just make sure PP bell service does not have a problem recieving the delivery.

I would call the PPH. I called DLH and asked the same question and was told that they would not sign for me, I needed to be there to accept delivery.

PP signed for us but they held it in the lobby until we arrived in our room. They did refrigerate the food for us that needed to be. This was in December.

I just did this last month at PPH. Their bell staff is WONDERFUL btw. Just notify the bell staff that the delivery is coming and give them your cell number just in case any problem. They will sign for you no problem.
