Is there a way to block your phone number when you call out using Vonage? I know you can do it on a landline by dialing * and something after that, but I would like something that would be "on" everytime a call is made.

My in laws always have their number blocked when they call and they don't dial anything extra. My dad only has a cell phone and his number is the sameway.

Why I ask for is I dialed a # and received an answering machine that wasn't for the person that I wanted. Instead of being rude and just hanging up, I left a message stating that I had called the wrong number. About an hour later I received a call asking what I wanted. It was the wrong number that I called. :confused3 I asked how they got my number and that's when they said off their caller id.

Thanks!!

From Vonage's site:
Protect Your Privacy

Hide Your Caller ID Information from Anyone You Call.

Caller ID Block, also known as *67, allows you to block your identity when you're making a phone call. This feature is always off until you activate it. You activate this feature before you begin dialing.
Activate Caller ID Block on a per call basis

You can activate Caller ID Block any time you make an outgoing call.

1. Pick up your handset.
2. Listen for the dial tone and press *67.
3. Wait for the dial tone and dial the number you are calling.

Protect Your Privacy

Caller ID Block allows you to make discreet calls. If the party you are trying to reach has Caller ID, your number will not appear on their Caller ID-enabled phone or device.
Caller ID Block Is Free

Like so many other Vonage value added services, Vonage Caller ID Block (*67) is included with every Vonage monthly calling plan.

Thanks oogieboogie!!!!

If I understand that right, I have to dial *67 before every call? Or it stays on after the first time I use it?

Thanks!!!

I know many people ( including myself ) who do not answer "Private Calls" on their cell phones.

If i cant see the number, or a name doesn't come up. I let it go to voicemail...

it's per call, so each time you call, you press *67 first then dial the number.
