voicemail/not returning phone calls.

I think it was invented by someone who did not want to return calls. Just how long does it take to return a call? I am a busy person, but I always do my best to retun a call on the same day; if I dont have time at least get my assistant to.

Surely they are just not avoiding me

I try to call everyone back the same day too, but it's just me and sometimes I can't do it all. And sometimes things come up. And sometimes people get sick. There could be a ton of reasons.

I return phone calls right, but my family is real bad about that. I have to leave numerous voicemails for my brother and cousin and maybe I will hear back from them. Often I only get to talk to them cause I caught them and they answered the phone. Is this a hint?

I'm real bad about checking the answering machine because most "real" calls I get on my cell phone, and it's usually solicitors or wrong numbers (we get numerous calls for a doctors office) so sometimes I forget to even look to see if we got any calls.

Generally speaking I try and reply within 24 hours. However, I say that on my answering message.

We frequently get calls from the district manager of the Dollar Tree in our area. Three years ago they printed their handbook with our number which only has 2 numbers reversed from the real store. They printed a new book but a lot of people still use the old one.

I'm right there with Aiden'smom. The first FIVE phone calls to my new number when I moved to Florida were wrong numbers. I admit it, I screen the home phone-if I don't recognize the number, I don't pick up. If it's a wrong number, they ask me who I am after I say that they've got a wrong number. It's a Florida thing-happens to everyone that moves here, from what I'm told.

I answer my voice mails on the way out the door from work-I ignore the cell phone when I'm working.

At work I get so many voicemails in a day. I try to call everyone back but most of the clients that do leave messages call back 10 minutes later because they think they are my only client. At home I usually call people back the same day.

It depends on who leaves the message and what they want. If they need information and I don't have it yet I will call them back when I get it. I try to return all urgent call as soon as I can.

Right now I have about 20 phone calls to return. Our department is down 6 people, YES 6 people, we have 5 left. It's the winter time, the roads are icey and slippery, I deal with the midwest states and I swear it must snow or Ice up in MN and MI every other day.

BTW: I am in auto ins. claims.... If I could throw my phone out the window I would. This week has been especially horrible and if it was nine months from now, I would probably walk out.....

So if I haven't called you back, I apologize and will do my best to do it today.

Also, I am not ALLOWED to work until 8am so even though I am here, I can't work....

Same thing happens to me. I went to lunch on Mon and my voice mail was empty. I came back and it was full. Most of the calls from the same client.

In my house it's because they don't bother listening to answering machine! They are too lazy to hit the button. My middle DD will listen to her voice calls on her cell, and she is pretty good about calling me back.
