VMK/Disney should be ashamed of themselves...

I sure hope somebody from the VMK staff is reading this board, to see what redbaybound had to say! A few simple things which would have made the event run much more smoothly for all...

1. Multiple entrances (duh). Why not the "EASY" room, "MEDIUM" room and "HARD" room, instead of one for all? Would substantially cut down wait time just to get in!

2. Gates at the teleport entrances in entry rooms, with staff timing their opening. (With only one entrance teleporter in first room, there should be no problem handling this.)

3. Staff in EVERY room, hopefully communicating with staff in the entry room so that clearing the teleporter is confirmed before allowing the next person in. Would eliminate all those "outside the doorway" accidents that have been making us grind our teeth all afternoon!

And redbaybound, I have tried your maze, and you obviously know what you are talking about! Excellent work!

OK, yesterday, I waited behind 36 ppl to get into the maze the first time after vmk opened up again. I ended up at the steps at only the second room. Then I decided to try it again. I waited behind 200 plus people and got in. I crashed when i entered. Then I decided, what else am i going to do today, so i tried it again and waited behind 500 plus people. I entered at the steps in the third room. I was so angry I went to one of the VMK staff members and I happen to be there when about five others were complaining about the same thing. She then took down our names, asked what level we were on, and said we would get a prize anyway. I was so happy after that!! Even though i had wasted half my day. After that I just went back to my room, held a few games and then got off. Even though I was soooooooooo agrevated from the whole maze thing yesterday, I can't complain. :)

I'm sorry, but it's how I feel regarding this entire day and this so-called Maze event.

I don't need to list the reasons why I feel this way because all of you (or most of you) have already expressed them.

I feel bad mostly for the kids who really are trying to play this game.

People have spent hours and hours today.. Oh wait, I mean, People have WASTED hours and hours today, attempting to participate in this event.

This "event" should've been called off right from the start, earlier today.

EDITED TO ADD: I am not referring to the long lines because *maybe* they had no alternate rooms set up for such large crowds. What I think is ridiculous is the crashing that continues to happen AND people getting booted out of the maze when the person in front of them won't move through the teleporter. There SHOULD HAVE BEEN changes made to prevent these things from happening.
You are playing a free game that procides you a lot of fun and you are ashamed of it? This is sad, as you may realize VMK is a young game, things are still being tested and so, so if you don't want to go through the testing process and play the game perfect, then quit and wait until next year to play again. Instead of complaining you should be saying thank you disney for finding something that distracts me and it is great fun!

I spent the whole day yesterday trying to get into the Maze. I lost connection, time and time and time again..

Today I spent 45 minutes in line just to get into the medium maze, and it disconneted me just as I finally got in the room.

I really thinkVMK should give up on events and just do surprises like we had on Weds.

I agree!! The mood on Wednesday and Thursday was so happy and Disney like - we were all so excited and everything was so cute and fun and original. This weekend has been like being at a bad traveling carnival with broken rides.

:rolleyes2 :sad1: :sad1: :headache: :headache:

I have to repectfully disagree with you Kaironzet. This is a free game and I am very grateful for the wonderful game that the designers have provided us with BUT...

this is not a beta test game. This is the live game. An occasional bug is ok but major blunders like the so called "events" is certainly not when you provide a service to the public. I have no conception of how difficult this type of game must be to create and manage and like I said above, I am eternally grateful to Disney and the designers. However, any other professionally provided game on the internet or bought as software would not be allowed in market with these kind of errors.

Maybe it would be better if VMK was still a beta test. I know if I understood that it was still in testing and growing stages I would not be so upset. I would also not be so upset if little kids were not getting their feelings hurt. It just breaks my heart to see how sad these kids are.

So don't think that I don't love VMK because I do, but VMK needs to stop promising what they cannot provide.

Nice reply redbaybound...

I just wanted to add that we do say thank you, we do it with our vacation dollars. As much as I like to pretend it is not, Disney is a business and VMK is advertising. Very fun and imaginative but advertising just the same and it is working.

I know both the original poster and myself are saying thank you to Disney more often than before VMK so it is doing it's job :) (18 days until WDW!)

Absolutely! ::yes:: One of the main reasons for our second trip to WDW this year is because of VMK.

I agree that VMK is one huge Disneyland/DisneyWorld advertisement. I enjoy it and my DH has a lot of fun with the games, but it's definitely an adverstisement.

See you soon, Taryn! ;) :earboy2:

I tried to play earlier today but gave up. I'm not on VMK much anymore...work, DH, DS2, two dogs, and football season...not much "free" time left! I still scan this board every day to see if anything interesting pops up. Read about the decorations so checked them out. The maze sounded fun so I thought I'd check that out today...no such luck. :(

The biggest problem is the people who have done the maze or part of the maze already, they don't want to leave and cause lines (like the one I'm in)with 142 people in front of you!

mine is not so much

Nose is just a tad brown there Kaironzet!

things are still being tested

UH no! it is not still in BETA! IT IS LIVE! this game has been out 5 months and I am only counting live + beta not alpha time! And if everyone only spouted praise and glory for VMK nothing would get fixed. Yes I love the game, yes I have a good time but no I will not quit because someone tells me I should because I think VMK producers made a complete mess of yet another event. They should just stick to surprises, release things when we least expect them and how about handing out gifts just to be handing out gifts spread alittle MAGIC! Afterall the mission statement is "unleash the magic" Maybe they should TRY and LIVE up to it!

Again you were rude and your comment was uncalled for.

SeaSpray is allowed to voice her opinion, one by the way I totally agree with.

Yes it is a free game but as I have said before and no doubt will say again if they can not do an event without failure then they should not do the event at all.

After so many failed events I will not allow my DS to participate in anymore VMK sponsered events. His feeling have been hurt too often by them.

I have to just voice my feelings. I agree with those who have said that VMK is just one big adverstisment and they will be getting money from us, so we have every right to complain. We just came back from WDW a week ago and all I could talk about was VMK. I bought hats because I wanted the Golden ears, I bought a picture because I wanted the Wanted Poster - they are making plenty of money off of us. I'm in the process of begging my DH to take me to Disneyland so that we can do the pirate quest. Anyways.. Just the fact that it is DISNEY - free or not, this is not the quality I would expect from them. This event seemed very dis-organized and unprofressional.

Yes, VMK dropped the ball on this. Big Time. But I'm not going to spend
more time than I ought to on it. I did my share of venting last night, and
I feel better today. :cool1:

I think if VMK is smart, they will do whatever they can to make amends for
the mess they created. They've already won my praise for changing the
trade window. I'm hoping they will continue this positive upswing and
learn from their mistakes.

The maze was so awful its easy to forget how much they did give us over the past week. Opening Tomorrowland, a new game, suit and all the halloween stuff. And yes the new trade window can make you relax a bit!
