I just refreshed www.vmk.com and this was showing on the page.

They must be having some serious problems. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

ya i think they are having problems and making a maze
i also wonder what the haunted mansion game is going to look like :confused3

how do you put your person on this do you copy it from the game?
i dont know im new here

Okay before everyone has a panic attack, this happened the last time they had to shut down for the maze event (when they did pin trading room again). I suspect the clock is an automatic and simply starts counting after VMK is closed for a certain amount of time. Last time, the clock did the same thing. VMK opened about 15 minutes later and then we got the announcement of the maze being cancelled and the pin trading event in its place. This was on the Hong Kong event for those who may not recall the details.

It may be that the VMK Staff is 1) trying to fix the problems with the game and 2) trying to come up with an alternative to the mazes.

Let's all take deep breaths before we go into VMK withdrawal until we see if there is an official statement.

I like that idea. But...wait. This has happened before? When? How? Why? Ack!! I must have missed it.

its the friends list bug /maze/overloaded/new lands problem im a vmk fourms member so i know alot about vmk

I think it is best for everyone to go get some nice fresh outside air. Go call a friend or have a disney movie marathon. Just think tomorrow we will be able to get on and there not be a single flaw :cool1:

Tell me about. No really, tell me about it. So, it must be overloaded with the new lands and stuff, and this giant network of rooms forming a maze...Is that what you're talking about?

Yes, the last event which was the celebration of the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland event. The maze was supposed to be the big part of that event and it started, I believe, on Friday. By 4:00, after closing VMK down repeatedly, we got the clock. About 15 minutes later, they announced the maze was post-poned, they were having another pin trading room competition and VMK re-opened. That was also the weekend the furniture went completely haywire in the rooms; probably a result of whatever was causing the problem with the mazes in the first place. Sigh, I guess that means the castle rooms will be in shambles again. Oh well.

You know, they probably oughta not do any more mazes. You know, I am planning to create a maze myself, but it's still in the planning process. They are very expensive to make.

But you don't care, I'm sure.

Will they post on the site that everything is going haywire?

Well I think the biggest trouble is that when they do the mazes, guests are really overwhelming the guest rooms. This also happens in pin judging room contests (how many found you could not actually work a trade in one of the contest rooms). During non-event times, guests are dispersed throughout the kingdom in games, public rooms, and guest rooms. Teleporters are being used but in a smaller percentage.

Now, you set up a series of mazes between guest rooms, announce it as an event and over 2000 guests all try to log on at the same time, cram into the rooms at the same time, and start putting severe stress on whatever part of the program handles the teleporter command.

Although I appreciate VMK trying to utilize some of the Community Leaders to help create the mazes, I just have to question the wisdom of putting so much stress on the server(s) that handle that aspect of the game. The maze is a great idea but I just don't know if they have a fix yet to handle the execution.

I like the way you put things. :-)

But what now? I wish they could fix it or something. Come on. They get paid to do this. They could at least do that right.

Okay, that was a little harsh. Sorry.

Well, most every Saturday morning when I log in there are more than 2000 people already in the kingdom. If this is the case, then we would have all sorts of problems every weekend. I don't think the problems were caused with the large number of ppl logging in at the start.

I agree with a previous post regarding the announcement of the start of the maze, the number of individuals trying to all cram in the same start room at the same time (do you all remember the room cramming experiment), the overload of people in the same queque line, etc. For this thing to work, I would suggest that they have a large number of start rooms so that smaller queque lines could form for each of the start rooms. They could have several different paths throughout the maze leading to different end rooms. Because if they can ever figure out how to get the thing started, I would imagine that the end room could possibly have the same result (long queque lines).

All in all, it was a nice idea but unless they spread it out over a week, to try to have everyone in the kingdom do the maze within a 2 day period would seem vitually impossible. Just my thoughts.
