VMK Central in WDW - Potentially Good News

That is very true. CMs do not have the easiest job in the world and there are quite a few that are great. When I call CRO and get an amazing CM, I write WDW Guest Services about it. Same thing when I visit the parks.

I know without asking they are not paid what they are worth. :) If I had to deal with obnoxious rude people who acted like they were raised in a barn, I would go crazy on them.

However, I stand by what I said, all CMs do not give out accurate information. I could care less if they think the information is true or not. False information is false information.

When somebody forwards me an email, I look it up at snopes.com or urbanlegends.com, etc before forwarding it on. If I have nothing to back it up I do not forward it and if I make a statement like I posted, I state what I did above, it may not be true. The CM who said this may have some inside scoop or may be sharing some made up stuff. I do not see why it is anything to get wound up over. :thumbsup2


I happen to agree with the statements about ignorant CMs. I think a good number of the front line cast members are not well informed. I could cite things (like the awful pool hopping comment made in a previous post) that would make most people who keep up with Disney news and info cringe.

I don't think the level of training is consistent, and I don't think most CMs
know Disney inside out. I also think that CMs pick up on rumors they hear
and pass those along as "coming soon" info.

One of my friends who works for Disney often called the changes as the
"Carousel of Policy". What may hold true today often gets changed tomorrow.
If you want a good example of the "Carousel of Policy", one only need to look
at the refillable mug program...the way the mugs were first marketed vs. the
way they are marketed post-2000ish.

I would take the VMK Central cast member's comments with a HUGE grain of
salt, preferably on the rim of a margarita glass in the Mexico pavilion (or maybe that new
tequila bar!) :rolleyes1
 
Please watch your personal attacks against me. There is no need for that and it is a board violation.

My comments were very carefully kept strictly to your comments about CMs, not YOU. Please stick to the topic, not the author.

I am not defensive, I am tired of reading comments from ppl such as yourself saying that CMs don't know what they are talking about. CMs pass along information they are told. If they are told wrong, that is not their fault.


I can't comment on CRO, but I can tell you Disney provides an incredible level of training to their cast members, such that they are viewed everywhere by corporations and business professionals as a model company when it comes to employee training.


Your posts don't offend me. I enjoy reading people's opinions. I just notice that you are very harsh on CMs and was politely asking you to realize such.



I did not attack you. If I was attacking you I promise it would be very obvious. ;) You are very defensive and this is not the first time you have been in relation to CMs. It is also not the first or third time you have felt the need to correct me, therefore you should watch your personal attacks. :hippie: You have your opinion and I have mine. That is fair, please accept both sides of it.

I stand by what I said and I will not hold back on posting my opinion based upon experiences just because somebody is offended or has a different opinion. Period. If that bothers you, you should add me to your ignore list. That is why the Dis offers it and it is not a crime to use it.

Before you put words into people's mouths, I ask that you throughly read before hitting reply. I did not say that all CMs do not know what they are talking about. I am done playing, please drive through and don't forget your change. :teeth:

I have to agree about the ignorant statements too. Seems the minority of cm are informed and knowledgable. I know the majority of cm who live near me, do not go to the parks on their days off. They do not all have access to the cast portal (or whatever the new version is called) while on stage. They see their job as just a job, and can't understand why I enjoy going there once a week. When I ask about new things or things I've read here on the DIS, they say that they never heard that. It's usually me who tells them about cast preview rides. So if blood encountered my neighbors, yea, I can definately see where her opinion is formed. Out of all the cm friends I have, only a small number of them are true disney freaks who stay on top of things.

Only time will tell what happens with vmk in the game and parks.

The information is indeed always up in the air. It would be great if the information was accurate and VMK Central was being moved to a new home (with a twist) but I am not holding my breath.

Bottom line it, it will be what it is and there is nothing mine or anybody else's thoughts, comments, poor or accurate information can do to change it. :flower3:
