VMK Central in WDW - out of pirate wells

Mal, wish I would have known you were there at the same time! Might have even passed you on the way in or out of VMK Central. LOL Or, were you the one next to me turning in the free 5x7 photo at guest relations in Animal Kingdom for the Everest pic? Hehe! That guy had a pile of them laying there. I should have said something to whomever that woman was, but time was ticking! 2 days, 3 parks, (missed MGM, no time) and my feet...ARRRGH! Gettin' old stinks! LOL Had a fabulous time, you?

No was not me I forgot to go by GR at AK and did not get our free Everest Pic so I still have a PDF for it.

we probably did pass each other several times and not know it though. We seemed to have been on a parrell course...no MGM for me either and TOT is one of my favorite rides. Oh yes sore feet were the worse this time, age does stink

Missed meeting up with DisAeryn on Saturday also because we had to sort out the rental car to get home..which really stank took two and half days off our trip dealing with that and that makes my blood boil.

Other than our rental car problems we had an awesome time!

I was at VMK central about 7 last night and had to ask for the cards. The lady was very nice. I asked for 6 cards and she gave them to me. She then asked if I needed any copies of the other quests Like High School Musical and Tomorrowland quest forms...

I asked about the PIrate cards at the end of the Pirate ride and no one seemed to know whre they were....

That happened to us the first time. We were persistent and found a CM that knew what we were talking about and got some for us.

Iris, we're probably heading back over this weekend if not sometime during the week. If your relatives can't get some cards for you, I'd be happy to get a few for you.

I had no issues getting the Pirate cards at VMK central yesterday, early afternoon -- They were behind the counter, I asked the CM and she handed me 2 or 3. The other cards are all still out and they had PLENTY of the well cards, they were just doling them out rather than leaving them in the bin like candy.

I'm glad to see they were replenished at VMK Central AND they were not
leaving them out in the open for any person to take the entire batch.

We went today and we thought about heading to MK because my daughter wants to create a male character since she figured out there were outfits she can't get with her female character. We ran out of time because of the Food & Wine Festival. I sort of wish we had gone now.

There are lots of us who go to the Magic Kingdom often! I don't know when I'll be there again, but I'm sure if you ask around you can find someone else who'll be there soon and would be glad to create a character there for you.

We stopped at vmk on Friday night before the Halloween party. We asked about the pirate quest card, and the cm behind the counter said he was told he could only give one per family. I think it depends on which cm you encounter. As for the wells at the pirates ride, the register that has them is located closest to the street in adventureland. Ask anyone at any other register and they have no clue what you are asking for.

I am in WDW right now. Today I was in the VMK booth and asked about the pirate cards, they have them behind the counter, they said that everytime they out them out they get taken. So I asked for 4 cards and they gave me a dirty look since it was just me and my daughter standing there, I laughed and offered to show them the ticket for my Mom and sister or better yet, I could drag them in. That kind of made them laugh and they said no my word was good enough.

That was VMK not thinking it through because with a different code on each card means that the ebay people would take advantage of it. Just watch it and see who is selling 100 wells at a time and you will have the person most likely

Thanks for the heads up This board is really so full of nice people! We'll probably be heading back over this weekend, though, because the cookbooks for the Food & Wine Festival were delayed by a week and weren't available this past weekend. I think the family is all "Epcoted" out so we'll have to swing by and let her create "barksby".

I wanted to share with you all something that my friend Gracie reported
to me this morning. She was in WDW for the NFFC convention, and
she went to VMK Central looking to do the Pirate quest.

When she asked (it was either Friday or Saturday, I can't recall which day
she told me) the cast member at VMK Central where the Pirate quest cards
were, she found out that the stack of 500 cards put out that day were gone
much sooner than expected.

Apparently when the CM turned their back, someone took the majority of
the quest cards. So yes, I am appalled that someone would take so many
wells for themselves and leave nothing for those who only wish to get one
well, one pirate room. I didn't think anything was wrong with people taking
maybe 5 well cards. But over 50? That's greed.

Gracie was able to go to the Pirates attraction gift shop for a pirate quest
card, and she was able to get her room. I think the pirate shop is being
more vigilant giving those out.

But as far as she was told, there were no more Pirate quest cards at
VMK Central. (She even asked if they had extra stock "in back" and the
answer was "No.")

not really greed i met him on the game when my friend asked me to follow her to the room because that was what he was giving out to peaople who cant even go to the disney parka dn at least have fun there he admitted it but i never got one because too many people cut me and i got mad becuase he never did anything he was always trading but just saying he only kept one that he put out to show

It only takes a few to spoil it for everyone.

I realize that someone may have taken a bunch to well cards so that they could gift them in the game, however, how would any of the CMs at VMK central even know this. All they see is somebody taking an excessive amount of cards.

My mom and a bunch of family members went the first week of October. My mom took all the tickets to VMK central (17 in all, included Halloween Tickets too) and she was only given ONE well card. Now mind you, they had no problem giving her all of the pirate fortress rooms and all of the other quests for each valid ticket, but they would only give her one well card.

Oh well.

I was at VMK Central in WDW on Sunday 10/15/06, and I was able to get 6 pirate wells and rooms. The CM's had all the cards locked in a drawer behind the desk. There was no mention of them running out, and she had a huge stack of them.

On a side note, I had no problems with the computers there. All the keys were readable. Encountered fabulous CM's the first day and a grumpy one the second. LOL

I posted and then noticed this thread was old Something interesting to ponder. We were just there a week ago and the keyboards were again unreadable. Can us imagine how many people have to use those keyboards in order for the writing to rub off so quickly?
