That Wacky Guy, from in the Sky....COSMIC RAY!!!!
Tues., Sept. 18, Magic Kingdom
This was the Hicks first day in Magic Kingdom.
Because we knew we would be eating a big meal around 4:30 pm at Liberty Tree Tavern, we planned arriving in time for the 9 am rope drop, experiencing all of Tomorrowland, then hitting Cosmic Ray's for lunch when it opened at 11 am.
This plan worked BEAUTIFULLY!!!
By the time we had done all of Tomorrowland, including a meet and greet with Stitch and ALL of the attractions except for the Laugh Floor, Ray's was open for business.
I had heard very good things about this place.
Everyone was game for just your basic fast food fare, but Ray's had that and more.
Mom decided to go all out, and ordered the
1/2 Rotis. Chicken, which came with mashed potatoes, carrots, and a soda and chocolate chip cookie.
She said it was very good, but VERY filling. It really could be a lighter lunch for two people with the generous amount of food they give you.
[Sorry, I don't have a pic of it, it did look good!]
Danger boy and Bitsy had a
kid's grilled chicken salad. This was a good option for them, because although I didn't take time to verify that there was absolutely no gluten/wheat, it lacked the obvious breading/bun that other options had.
They had grapes or carrots, chocolate pudding, and a chocolate milk as their sides.
Also pictured there is
Princess K's chicken nuggets with homemade chips and chocolate pudding. She also had a chocolate milk.
The homemade chips confused me, because they are in no way healthier than french fries, as they are fried to a crisp in oil.
Who knows what the thinking on that was???
The kids thought they were just ok.
The nuggets, as always, were a hit.
I ordered the
Turkey Bacon Wrap. This was absolutely delicious and HUGE!
I would absolutely get this again.
With it I got a soda, apple slices and carrot cake.
This carrot cake was by far the best carrot cake of the whole trip.
The carrot cake at Pop Food Court was lousy compared to this.
Did I mention it was good Carrot Cake???
I told
John , who ordered later than I, to save room for half of my wrap, and so he ordered the
chicken ceasar salad, soda, and chocolate cake.
[No pic.]
He liked both of our meals.
Here I must take a short break, as I need to corral the kids for bed.
More Ray's in my next post!
