So do you take them each day? If you do, what kind and why? Do you believe they make a difference? Does everyone in your family take them ?:confused3

I take a Centrum every day. I think it's a good way to make sure I get all of my vitamins.

I do, because I can't always rely on getting everything through meals. I just take the generic - they are one of the few that do not use a sulfate compoung and I'm allergic to sulfur.

I made my DH start taking them and there really has been a big difference.

Centrum, and my kids take Flinstones. Yes, I believe they make a difference.

I take the store brand Centrum vitamin every day. In the afternoon, I also take a calcium + D tablet.

Do they make a difference? I don't know, but I like to make sure I am geting all the important vitamins & minerals and my Dr. said it was good to take a vitamin and a calcium tablet.

Vitamin C 500 , Estrotone, and Omega 3. All from the Country Harmony store that only sells natural vitamins. No synthetic ones.

I'm a believer in taking supplements but honestly I can never remember to take them. :lmao: I take a chewable vitamin in the morning (when I remember) because its on of the few that I can find that does not have Iodine or Sulfites (I'm allergic to both)

I try and do it by diet alone, since the body doesnt really process the 'good' stuff in the pills that well, esspecially in one big dose.

However if i have a cold, or have had a lacking diet for a while (namely when i am ill and don't eat) i will bump myself up with some vit c or some generic multi vitamins.

I take a woman's multi. I do so for two reasons....first, I don't think I get enough through diet alone and secondly, I want to continue to take folic acid since we are thinking about having more children.

I take a One a Day for women. I don't know if it does anything for me, but the last time I had bloodwork done I had low iron levels and my doctor told me to start taking a multivitamin.

I take a handful of vitamins/pills every morning-enough to choke a horse..all at once!

I take two medications, a vitamin D, vitamin C, Cranberry extract, Multivitamin, B12, low doseage aspirin, and Calcium. I don't know about the vitamins, but for a person who never drinks milk or eats a lot of dairy, I was tickled pink when my GYN read the results of my bone scan and told me I had the bones of a 12-year-old.

I guess that't good, right?:confused3

I don't always eat right, and feel I need the multi..the cranberry helps with bladder infections, and the rest is "why not" .

Everyday....

1000mg Omega 3 Fish Oils
500mg B12
500mg C

I take Centrum. Mainly because for the almost 27 years I've been alive my mom blames any ailment or difficulty in your life on if you did or didn't take your vitamin. So I just take them. Otherwise I'd never get her sympathy :).

Personally I don't think they make a difference.

DH and I both take Centrum, 2gm fish oil, 2gm flaxseed oil caps, co-enzyme q-10 100mg, B-12 500mg, Vit D 500mg, Vit C500mg, Vit E 400u, and DH takes ASA 81mg also. Of course I have to put our pills in containers every week.

Both DH and I take: Centrum, Vit C, Fish Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Krill Oil, Calcium (just me), sometimes joint meds.

Kids get a chewable multi vitamin and an extra C.

tink and pooh, what vitamin do you take that doesn't have iodine? My DD is also allergic but hasn't found a vitamin without it.

TIA

There was something recently where scientists looked at a whole bunch of different studies of certain vitamins that have been done over the years (A, E, C, and a couple of others) and the conclusions were that the more vitamins people took, the higher their risk of death :scared1:

I guess there are a few different ways of interpreting this -- possibly people who take more vitamins have more health problems to begin with or generally felt "sicker" (that would make sense). But they tried to control for these issues, so there may be something to it -- certainly, some doses of A and E are dangerous or just not at all healthful. C is basically a placebo (it has been studied to DEATH ... it is totally ironclad that it does ZIP!). I wouldn't say that of everything -- I'm totally on board with certain supplements.

Who knows what to conclude, but it is certainly interesting!

I don't take anything right now except iron (ordered to by the dr :rolleyes1 ) and I did just buy some calcium/vit d that I keep trying to remember to take :rolleyes1
