I’ve been to Disney a few times and it is my happy place! I had a stroke a couple years ago with seizers. I want to go to WDW so bad, but I worry about my field cut, seizers, fatigue and anxiety. Does anyone have a field cut or seizers? How do you cope? With seizers which rides can you not ride?

Thank you!

what do you mean by My field cut?

I know different think make people have seizer do you know what your triggers are, like being overly tired hungry dehydrated those can be simply as keeping to your sleep schedule drinking plenty of water and eating as normal as you can

Seizures, without convulsions or with them? Will you have someone with you who can take care of you when you have one? Would you be willing to use a wheelchair?

I lost half of my vision with my stroke, the right side of each eye.

I will be using a wheelchair due to other health conditions. I don’t have convulsions anymore, when I have a seizer I can’t speak and go blank. Thanks!

I would look into getting a wheel if you have someone to push you or an ECV I know with your vision problem this will be harder and will require trining your head more so that you can see to your right As fair as what rides not to go on this is something you need to talk to your Dr about on what they think you should stay away from

I don’t believe WDW has any attractions that might specifically cause seizures - such as strobe lights. But your own personal triggers may be found. I think key to prevention, other than avoiding your triggers, is to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. That may mean taking things slow with rest breaks, or sleep in following a late fireworks night, and don’t plan rope drop and fireworks on the same day unless you plan to nap. Ice water is available free at quick service locations, and don’t wait until you feel thirsty to drink, sip throughout the day.

Enjoy your vacation!

If you've got someone with you, and know your warning signs of an upcoming seizure, you can ask to use the chicken exit in an attraction if you are too far in the queue to get out. If you don't have convulsions during the seizure, you should be safe on the calmer rides if it happens there. But the more aggressive rides - the roller coasters, star tours, dinosaur, anything where you need to be supporting your body - I'd be concerned of injury if you had one while you were on the ride.

I agree with @gap2368 - you really need someone to push you in a manual wheelchair. That way, you don't have the concern of driving an ECV (which will not only be tiring, but could be troublesome if you do happen to have a seizure) and will allow you to stay as rested as possible.
