Vistana Resort Timeshare Deal / What was your best deal from them??

I'm trying to put together a trip for possibly mid May for my family of 5.

We've stayed onsite before, (Dixie, Allstar Movies, WL) but this trip is going to have to be cheaper. Also, my youngest will then be three, so we would have to go to two rooms at most places. I've thought about a deluxe with a discount, but I don't think I could get it cheap enough to convince hubby, plus I think we would like having a little extra room.

I've thought about HIFS, I like that the kids have their own little place, and breakfast free everyday sounds good too. But I've read a lot about Vistana Resort(I like the resort better than the villages). Since this is our 5th trip in about 7 years, I'm not so worried about giving up my time for a timeshare presentation.

What has been your experience with rates if you have done the timeshare deal?? what should I be expecting??

Thanks in advance :D :Pinkbounc :D

Hi, Pamela:

I called on a great deal through Sheraton through a owner's referral I found on the Tug2 board. It is for 5 days 4 nights at the Vistana Resort, $199 for a one bedroom and $319 for a 2 bedroom. The only problem was I was going on a very busy week so they assured me that if they were booked they would have to put me in the Caribe Royale, and I really wanted the Vistana.

Robin,
if they were booked they would have to put me in the Caribe Royale,

Caribe Royale, a 4* hotel,That would have been tough,NOT!!

I have been looking at the Caribe Royale it is all 1 bedroom suites,or 2-bedroom villas!!

Caribe Royale has only recently lowered there 5* prices to something I could even look at with www.MouseSavers.com deal it's $99.00

I managed to get a government rate of $89/nite for a 1 bedroom for 4/5 - 4/12/03 through Sheraton's website. I believe the normal rate when I booked this last month was $139.

Using my South African (really!) timeshare weeks, I exchanged into Vistana (three 2 bdrm slp 8 in Cascades) for Presidents week 02 for (drum roll) $299 for each unit.

This allowed me to plan a great inexpensive family reunion for 14 people, with plenty of space to spread out. It worked out to about $72 pp for the week!
