If you were able to get a two-bedroom villa at either of these resorts for about the same price, which would you chose and why? Any info, good or bad, on either place would be helpful. Thanks!!:D

Well they both have good locations, Cypress Pte. being a tad closer to Disney..probably the same amount of space in the unit...Vistana is a much larger resort with multiple pools etc. and Cypress Pointe Grand has 2 pools (nice ones) and not as much "going on" as far as bar, store, etc..I dont think you could go wrong with either.

Of course stay away from the Courts units at Vistana if you stay there.

Thanks, DianeV! Anyone else have any opinions or information on either of these resorts?

I have no personal experience with Cypress Pointe, other than to have heard it's a very nice resort. But I'm a timeshare owner at Vistana and can tell you that I think you'd really enjoy staying here. It's a very large resort, divided into 9 separate sections or villages. If you opt for this resort, request either the Cascades, Lakes or Fountains (I & II) sections. It usually takes us less than 10 min by car to get to any of the WDW parks and maybe 15 min to Sea World or Universal from Vistana.
If you have any specific questions about Vistana, feel free to ask.

Cypress Pointe Grandvillas probably offers more consistently nice rooms than Vistana Resort. All 2BRs would have an inroom jacuzzi tub (not in the Courts section of Vistana, if that matters to you). If you will have a 2BR that sleeps 6, I think the ones at CPG will be nicer. If you will have a 2BR that sleeps 8, the one at Vistana could be nicer or not - depending on where you are assigned a room at Vistana.

Vistana Resort is larger and offers a lot more to do - especially for older kids and teens. If you plan to spend more than one full day enjoying resort activities, Vistana will offer more to fill a couple days. Vistana's 2BRs are never part of a larger lock-off (so quieter). Some of CPG's 2BRs are actually part of a larger 3BR lock-off (may be a little bit noisy if you have very loud neighbors in the smaller lock-off).

Both are very nice places and well-located. If you plan to spend most of your time touring the local sights, it's probably a toss-up.

I have stayed at both - they are both awesome. I would rate Cypress Pointe a notch higher - with the Volcano pool and especially if you get a 3 bedroom. The 3 bedrooms have 2 hot tubs and a nice spacious lay out (Even the 2 bedroom part is awesome). But Vistana has a lot of on-site amentities. You really can't go wrong with either - they are my family's 2 favorite places to stay near Disney.

Great locations!

Dave

Just wanted to add, that Vistana has 7 outdoor pools (zero depth, fountains, waterfall, slide pool) in addition to many hot tubs scattered around the resort. I'm sure the 3 bedroom at Cypress Pointe is very nice---Vistana does not have 3 bedrooms, but you did mention you were interested in a 2 bedroom. The Cascades, Lakes and Fountains Two sections all have jacuzzi tubs in the master bedroom. The older sections have a whirlpool tub in the master bathroom.
I agree, you can't go wrong with either of these.

Maria,

I am working on a spreadsheet with a bunch of Vistana info. I am hoping it could be used for mesages about Vistana for DIS as well as TUG (where I am a member)

Would you be willing to PM me so I could ask you some additional questions?

So far, the areas I am compiling are:

Section
Check In Day/s
Pool-what kind
Kiddie Pool in the area
playground in the area
1 bedroom (any specific info)
2 bedroom (any specific info)
Master Bath (jacuzzi??)
# of Floors in the building
Elevators in building?
Misc. Notes

Thanks
Julia

Absolutely, I'll PM you now. I'd be happy to help in any way I can. This is a good idea. I'm also a TUG member.
