We are staying at vistana resort and I would like to know the best/different buildings to be in. I know this has already been asked and answered but, I could not find it posted anywhere. We will be arriving on a friday which I remember kind of determins where you will be at. I would also like to know if the rooms in the different buildings are different in size. I guess I thought they would all be the same room. The size really matters to me because we have a big family.Do u know if the size of the beds are the same in all the rooms or do the have different sizes (full/twin)? Could someone tell me a good building that is not to small and is close to the pools, resterants, general store ect .

thanks

We were at the Vistana Resort at the end of April/first of May and we stayed at the Cascades section which we learned from here is the nicest section. We got there early (11:00 am) on a Friday and requested that we get the Cascades section and then kind of stuck around and kept checking back in until the Cascades Section was confirmed. The place was really nice. One bedroom had a king size bed in it with a BIG jacuzzi/whirpool tub. The other bedroom had two double beds in it and there was a pull out sofa in the living room. We fit 7 people in there comfortably(though we weren't in the room much). The place is great as it is just minutes away from the back way in to Disney.

Have Fun

is it true that the rooms are smaller at the cascades? This would make a big difference to us. I would rather be in a nice buiding with a bigger room. anyone know?

My husband and I have owned at Vistana Resort for 4 years and have visited each of those years. (We just got back on July 27th!) We've stayed in Cascades, Lakes, Fountains and Spas. Of those, Lake was the largest and second only to the Cascades in age and beauty. However, each of the other rooms was excellent. (although maybe not as new) Vistana does a good job of updating the older buildings on a constant and ongoing basis; new TVs this year, new whirlpools next year, and so on. Plus they are very responsive to any complaints. (Not that we've had many) I'd shoot for the lakes, followed by the Cascades. They all have the same number of beds and they are all the same sizes too. Plus you can get roll-aways for something like $5 per day if you need more sleeping room. Have a great time!! :)

My wife and I have owned at Vistana for almost 10 years...and have gone there every year. We own a week and a half at the Fountains. It was my impression that rooms at the Cascades were a bit smaller than at other older buildings, but I might be wrong. In any case, they all fit 7-8 adults comfortably.
I haven't posted anything in a long time, so this reply might be terribly outdated. I hope it helps.

we stayed a couple of years ago in the Springs section, which is one of the older sections -- but still with a jacuzzi in the bathroom . We liked it tremendously, as opposed to the newer Cascades area, because the landscaping was much more profuse and mature. It was also more secluded, with a quiet pool right there, but only a few minutes from the big central pool. There was a stain on the carpet, which I called and complained and within 2 hours someone was in the unit shampooing.

As we walked around, we concluded the only units to avoid are the very oldest ones (courts?) which do not have the jacuzzis--which becomes a good way to eliminate them.

I would still shoot for Cascades. The problem with the lakes/fountains sections is that they are on the other side of the entry road away from the other sections. We never had any reason to go over there. Most of the activities are in the main section as are the resturants, pizza hut, general store, ect. Also, I would add that the Cascades pool is still the nicest by far. the super pool was large, the springs pool was quiet, the slide pool was lame, but the cascades pool, with the fountains, waterfall, and zero entry was the nicest. It was also the busiest.

I haven't stayed in the Palms personally, but gave one of our weeks to friends two years ago and they ended up in the Palms. My friends, who are kind of picky, raved about how great everything was so I would say that the Palms, although one of the older sections, has been kept up well and should be fine for you.

Have fun!
