We haven't actually stayed there, but it looks like a very nice condo resort. The Isles at Cay Commons is next door to Vista Cay and opposite the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in an otherwise undeveloped area approximately two miles south of Pointe Orlando on a newly built extension of Universal Boulevard. We stayed at Rosen Shingle Creek shortly after it opened and took a drive down that way this past November to see if anything much has sprung up.
Between Vista Cay and The Isles is a new Publix in the usual strip mall, but very few of the other units are occupied at the moment. I'm not sure whether or not there are any dining facilities there yet, but I'm sure the person you're renting from can answer that. The Rosen Shingle Creek has some excellent upscale restaurants, notably Bella Casa (Italian) and A Land Remembered (Steakhouse) which is located in the golf clubhouse. I can thoroughly recommend both, but they are very expensive.
It's not a place I'd want to stay without a car, but both the I-Ride Trolley and the Lynx buses stop there, so it's not an impossibility by any means. In my opinion, it's too far from I-Drive to walk.
