My family and I (along with some extended family) will be visiting Disney in Mid-Oct. We will have 5 adults and 4 children. Our main purpose will be to visit Disney (5 day passes).

We have been researching various places to stay and are almost overwhelmed! We found a very nice condo (with good reviews) at Vista Cay in Orlando for the 6 nights for under $900 (for all taxes and fees). That seems like a pretty good deal but I keep wondering if it is too far away from Disney attractions. Any thoughts?

Also, closer to Disney, we have looked at places at the Villas at 7 Dwarfs and Terra Verde. Both of these locations are obviously closer to Disney (with the Terra Verde being the most expensive of them all). Any suggestions?

Is it worth it being that much closer to the Disney parks? Best place to be with young kids?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I stayed at Vista Cay in May. Overall I thought it was decent enough. The condo where we stayed had a little bit of a dated carpet and a funky layout with the main floor on the second level, but it had three bedrooms, was spacious, and allowed us to do a bit of our own cooking on site during the week.

I thought the pool area and hot tub were good and my 1.5-year-old went to the children's splash pool every night all week.

In terms of distance, I would guess it took us 20-25 minutes to get to places like Magic Kingdom. Universal was maybe a 10-minute drive.
