We will be staying at CBR for our trip in December. The day we are leaving, we will not be leaving until late afternoon, so I was thinking it might be fun to visit some of the other resorts beside CBR. If this is possible, what resort or resorts would you suggest we go to just for the sights that wouldn't take more than 4-5 hours to visit in total? I am just looking for something low key, but fun to do before we depart.

You could take the bus from CBR to MK then do the monorail loop and check out the Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian, and if you have time take the bout to Wilderness Lodge and maybe Ft. Wilderness.

Or you could take the bus from CBR to Hollywood Studios and walk or take the boat to check out Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin.

I would hit the monorail resorts if you wanted to see a few different resorts. You have easy access to each resort from each one. Also each one has its own feel to it. We did this our last trip and really enjoyed it.

We love to see other resorts. One of our DDs collects pressed pennies so we go to other resorts to get pressed pennies. We love to go to the WL - we love to watch the geyser erupt. We also love to go to the GF and sit in the lobby. Our kids love to ride the monorail. We also love the Poly gift shop and love to get a Dole Whip and sit in the lobby.

Have fun!

last feburary my daughter and 2 grandkids were staying at AKL. One night I wanted to do press pennies. So we took our car and drove to WL.
we pulled up to the security shack and told the guard that we were coming to look at the resort because we would like to stay there. He no we could not just come in and look around. He was really rude about it. I forget exactly what he said. I said we are resort guests and wanted to get press pennies.
He did let us in but said 1 time only. He made my daughter cry. She is years old! WE asked to see the manager at front desk and told him what happened. It turned me off from staying there ever! Supposibly they call down and reported him to his boss. I guess if you go on the bus or monorail it would be better.
We stayed at AKL that time because we visited it on previous visits. I wish I got his name because I'll never forget him

Thank you. This was just the kind of information I was looking for!

You could also visit AKL and spend time looking at the animals, wandering the halls looking at the art/pottery/clothing displays, have a nice lunch. I did this on my last visit and spent several hours there.

We usually do this during our trips! We like to get away from the MK for a couple hours sometimes and go to a monorail resort, have lunch at their QS places, get me a glass of wine, and cool off away from the crowds.

Also walking around the Boardwalk is fun! Get an ice cream, or a margarita from the cart in front of the BWI, my kids like the food at the hot dog cart (their fried macaroni and cheese is soooo fattening but good). It's a nice way to get away from Epcot for an hour - just walk out the International Gateway.

We totally enjoy visiting other resorts for a meal, drink, snack, etc.... And shop a bit too!

I always visit other resorts on every one of my trips. For you, I would agree with others and say the MK loop since, as mentioned, they really all do have a very different feel--from GF, to Poly, to CR, to WL. Even though you could also go the EP loop, those resorts to me all kind of look alike--don't get me wrong, I love my BWI and the easy walk to EP and HS, but the resorts don't really have the wow factor of lets say the lobbies of WL or GF. And I agree with a previous poster that you could also do a one-hotel visit to (and I would highly recommend) the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Have fun!

I'd vote for the monorail loop resorts! Some of my favorite places, each has such a different feel to it, and they're all gorgeous. You could grab a snack or drink at each too depending on the time of day! We like to check out Wilderness Lodge too, and the Fort is one of my favorite resorts, there's a COMPLETELY different feel over there!

Both the MK resorts, in particular GF & WL, and The Epcot resorts have beautiful Christmas decorations. The GF has a life size gingerbread house, and BC/YC has a chocolate carousel! WL looks beautiful.

It would be easy to take the bus to DHS and walk around the Epcot area resorts, then from one of the resorts hop on a bus to MK or go back to DHS bus loop to get bus to Poly. From Poly continue on via monorail to GF, CR, then take boat from back of CR to WL. After you are finished with CR take either the boat or bus back to MK to go back to your resort.
