Hi I am hoping that someone out there will be able to advise me and my family and stop the disappointment of a 6 year old.

My niece has recently been diagnosed with a nut allergy and my Mum was planning on taking her and her sister to DLP in the Autumn. They have contacted the resort through their website and were not reassured by their response.

I am sure there must be daily visitors which suffer from the same complaint as my niece who cope and have a fantastic trip. I would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation who have had a successful trip and could give us some advice!

Sorry I cannot offer any help regarding dealing with allergy.
Might be worth writing to Park or even better phoning to get some reasurrance.

Hi,

We're off to DLP just after Easter and also have a Daughter with a nut allergy. Can't believe I've not come across these boards sooner!!

Have found a some helpful info so far by emailing the Disney Dieticians at DLP (a very good idea btw) - I would post the address but forum rules disallow it, I suppose due to spammers. I'll edit and add when/if I get chance to post on enough threads.

Assured by them that many of the Hotels and Restaurants run by Disney have specific Allergen free meals and they also provided a reasonably comprehensive list and information regarding them (via email). This has gone someway to easing our worries. Though having experienced WDW Dining and knowing how much Disney cared over in Florida we weren't quite as stressed as usual. :)

It is difficult to find any info on many of the other Restaurants and Hotels around DLP - it would be really nice to know how your trip went in August - good experiences I hope?

And has anyone else any advice or experiences to share regarding this?

Hello Murray and Marvellous Marce - and welcome to the DIS!!

Marvellous Marce - is this the link you wanted to post? Here is also a little bit of information from the DLP Foodguide - which is also a great website for restaurant reviews and menus. :)

hi there

i also have a nut allergy and reqularly visit DLP. I would try and contact the hotel you are staying at prior to going, as they may be able to help you with breakfast options.

as for food in the parks, i tend to visit the restaurants which serve Pastas and Pizzas etc such as Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost (Adventureland) and Pizzeria Bella Notte (Fantasland). so if your niece likes these then this is a safe bet.

Hope thats been of some help :)

I have seen on another website a cast member mentioning that they are given training on advice to give out on special diet requirements at City Hall. So I would assume that you could always drop into City Hall during your stay if you have concerns.
