Visiting Boardwalk

We are going over during the holidays (Dec 16-26) And staying at Boulder Ridge Villas. We want to spend approx 3 hours checking out the Boardwalk and area during the afternoon (4-6). Other than going to MK and hopping on the bus to Beach Club or Boardwalk, or taxi what are other alternatives since parking is off limits at the resorts.

Perhaps bus to Hollywood Studios and take the 10-minute walk to Boardwalk.

Not sure there is enough to keep ypu entertained for 3 hours. It's charming, but it's not a shopping district like Disney Springs.

Exactly - especially in the afternoon. Prepandemic, there was entertainment in the evenings (piano player, juggler, magician, etc.) and carnival games, but I don't think much of that has returned yet, and in the afternoon there's nothing but shopping in the gift store and getting a pizza from the window. Even ESPN Club is closed! You might be able to spend 3 hours exploring the hotel lobbies (BW Inn & Villas, Swan/Dolphin, Yacht, Beach) and around Crescent Lake, but there's nothing to take 3 hours on the Boardwalk itself. Sorry.

I should have been more clear.That’s exactly what I planned on doing….all the resorts etc. Their used to be a place to park adjacent to the Boardwalk hotel parking lot but people abused it by parking there and going to Epcot for the day

Sorry I misunderstood. Yes, as above, you could bus from WL to DHS and walk, boat or Skyliner to the Epcot resorts, or as you thought, boat to MK and bus to BW, YC or BC. Or taxi/rideshare, although there have been reports of rideshare being turned away from the Epcot Disney resorts (not from Swan/Dolphin).

I would bus to HS and take the Skyliner to Riviera and look around there first. Take the Skyliner to the Epcot station and walk over to the different resort. You can take the boat back to HS and catch a bus back to your resort

We took a ride share from Caribbean Beach after the skyliner broke down and they made everyone disembark. Picked us up right at the bus stop and took us to Disney Springs for about $9, well worth the money for the time it saved us from trying to get to our resort at Beach Club then bussing to DS.

Agree with either taking a bus to EPCOT or HS and then walking into the Boardwalk area.
You could also take a bus to Riviera and then take the Skyliner to the IG and walk around the Boardwalk area.
Its one of our favorite areas. Enjoy!

@tgropp, this can be done but requires entering and walking through Epcot, meaning it requires a park ticket and the appropriate park reservation or hopping qualification.
