Hey kids! I have been reading all the boards and have decided to post my 1st pre-trip report. I am a big planner-I'll warn you now. I had my 1st disney trip in 1977 and have gone 7 times (I think) over the years. I have not been since 2003! To say I am excited would be underestimating quite a bit! Here we go-

The characters:
Me, 38
Hubby,49
Teen daughter,17
cute little princess,4 (yup,we like a crazy,big gap between kids!!!):wizard:

When-June 27th-July 9th

We are in upstate NY near Lake George and on the Vermont border. We will travel by car to Albany NY and catch a train to Penn Station NYC. We board Amtrak at 10:50 AM on June 27th and travel for 24 hours to be in Orlando by 10:30 AM on June 28th.
TRAIN-the train is a little pricey but I swear it is fun! Due to us having 4 people we needed to get 2 viewliner roomettes(which sleep 2).They are $400 each!Ouch! But they include all meals and non alcohol drinks so that helps. Also after having traveled by train to FLA many times in a coach seat I can tell you THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO! Total roundtrip was $2400 for 4.

More to come!

Researched how to get from Amtrak to hotel-which is the Carribean Beach Resort. Disney wanted $145 round trip!!!! Too high for me!Searched the web and found an ad for a company run by a guy named Marty(email me for info).Price from train to resort $35 including a stop at a convenience store to get some water bottles and such. When I called direct, I got Marty himself on the phone and he seems like a really nice guy running this operation.I have used Mears in the past-and there online quote is $30 to the resort but no stop. And I thought MArty site was a hoot so he wins!:yay:

Staying at the Carribean Beach resort.Doing the 4/3 deal.We are staying for 11 days(10 nights). Was originally going for 8 nights but bumped it to 10 to be able to enjoy the hotel a wee bit more.Made original ressies for 8 nights ,with 8 days of park tickets(no hopping) for $2093.Added 2 more nights for $473.Have asked for the preferred room(closer to main pool and entrance area) and it says so on my ressies, but we will see how easy it is when we get there! Resort is large and hope to have the closer room.

Please let me know what you think of CBR pools-especially for a 4 year old.I love the zero entry for her!
