If they weren't straight up with me about the prices, that would make me leery about the way they do business (especially if I had a problem later).

I lost my glasses and looking at all the typos in the above you Dan see why I'm here.

If not having your glasses on is causing these funny typos, you might want to get to the place that will make your glasses the quickest! :rotfl:

Visionworks used to be Eyemasters, right? I don't know if anything has changed besides the name, but they always did a good job for us. I just have a hard time finding frames I like there, but I'm picky.

If you can wait, Costco has inexpensive glasses and they do a good job. They just don't have a huge selection of frames.

I like the frame choice best at Lenscrafters, but they are expensive.

LensCrafters has progressive lenses half off making them more affordable. Plus they will have my glasses in an hour. I'm just going to give them the extra. They don't take my I durance so ill have to submit but I should get at least half back.

Do you have to be a Costco member to get glasses there? Do they also do exams? We don't have vision insurance any more, and the private optometrist we used to go to (when we had insurance) is quite expensive. without

I'm not sure if you have to be a Costco member or not. You don't have to be for the pharmacy or the liquor store (at least in Texas you don't), but I kind of think you do for the eyeglasses. But it could save you enough for it to be worth it to just pay for the membership for at least the year you were buying glasses. We didn't go to an optometrist there, but I'm looking at the website for the one we went to and it says they have an optometrist.

I've used them for my daughter and didn't have any problem with the prices but we didn't care for the doctor and she couldn't find one pair of glasses that she liked (I guess we should have looked at the glasses first) so she just had them put the new lenses in her old frame.

I got my sunglasses there in December. I didn't have any problems with the price. I just asked them to run with my insurance and without and went with the cheaper price (it was without).

you can use optometrist there without membership but to buy glasses/contacts there you need to be member but I personally save more than my membership fees buying there.
