thinking of purchasing visa gift cards as a way to save spending money for disney trip. I dont have a disney store in area to purchase disney cards.
Does anyone know if these are good all over disneyworld. Also can you use them at the food and wine festival, thought this would be easier than paying with cash at the food stands.:confused3:confused3

A lot of those prepaid cards have fees attached. You can charge everything to your room and pay it that way since you don't want to carry cash.

most grocery stores carry Disney gift cards. I have seen them at Publix, Kroger, and Sams club.

My mom gave me a VISA gift card for my bday 2 years ago and it was a pain to use. I tried to use the balance one time. I knew there was funds left on it but not sure how much, well, the cashier had to call VISA at the check out to find out exact amount. There was no easy way to check my balance and there was an expiration date. Also, I believe there are fees attached in buying them?

I think Disney gift cards are easier to deal with. You can easily check your balance online, they are accepted almost anywhere at Disney and they never expire.

If your grocery store doesn't carry them, you could order them online?

I get my DGC's at Walgreens. I bought DH a Visa GC for his birthday and it was sooo much trouble to use it that I will never buy one again! They are way harder to use than other GCs. If you get on DGC from Walgreen's, you can always add more to it online or by phone.
