VISA card will cover rental vehicles in lieu of rental insurance

DH just discovered that our Disney VISA card has the perk of covering damage and theft on rental cars if you waive the car company plan and use the VISA for the full rental car bill.

Nice perk! Saves money and also saves our personal insurance if there are any problems!

If it is like my VISA card, it is actually secondary insurance. Your personal insurance pays first, then the VISA picks up the rest (the deductible if you have physical damage coverage on your personal policy). It varies by card, not all cards cover it.
