Virtual Walk up list

In Disney for the first time in a couple years. Staying off property so missed out on a lot of reservations I wanted. Looking at the walk up list option on my disney experience app. Do you know how close you have to be to use the feature? If I am in magic kingdom am I close enough to ohana for it to work? Also, do I have a window to arrive if I am in magic kingdom and my table becomes available?

Our only experience told us "10 minutes" estimated. Luckily we were very nearby and just hopped over. I don't know if there would be walk-up option for longer than that, by choice. Or, if just luck of the draw.
