Hi Guys - ok - these are two very stupid questions (but you never ever judge, so I feel confident about asking without looking stupid)....

We're flying Upper Class on Saturday (to Washington DC not WDW). When we go into the club house, I can order breakfast with champagne (and not have to pay any extra!!!)

On the plane, when the extras from the pamper pack come out (see quote below):

"Cabin Crew will be offering additional items to help make the flight more comfortable. Passengers can help themselves to Polo mints, Upper Class pens, razors, and shaving cream, moisturiser and lip balm all from Cowshed."

Do you have to pay for the polo mints.....

These questions come from my intense paranoia that I shouldn't be in Upper Class (even though I worked and have paid for it!!) and that the crew will snub us and laugh at us, and I don't know what I'm so wound up about polo mints and lip balm ....

Beginning to regret it and think I should go back to coach!!

Thanks,

In the words of one very famous dog 'Ooooo yesss'! It is all free in the CH, enjoy!

Claire ;)

lol no, you dont pay for anything other than anything you order out the seat back type magazine thingy. everything else is freeeeeee! (well, included in what you already paid anyway!)

I think its considered polite to not grab everything out of the basket of extras (polos, pens, etc) though!

No, its not free.
You have already apid for everything in your tickets :rotfl:

Don't forget to use the beauty salon as well (yes, thats free as well) and don't forget to pick up your sleep suit from the cabin as well as your ameinity kit, plus have as much drinks as you require. its not like Economy, the crew are there at your call to refill your glass. Also, yes, you can convert your seat into a bed and have a doze after partaking at the onboard bar :goodvibes

Oh Good Luck to you...enjoy every minute..........the crew won't snub you...and you deserve it if you've saved hard for it.

One day I'm going to do that.........

ok it may be upper class but i'm sorry to say the crew are not there for your every call. the crew are there for safety as their main concern not to keep you topped up with drinks

Sorry for the little rant

Absolutely right, the crew on every airline's main concern is safety....

but in Upper Class....it is rare your glass is empty...:thumbsup2

One of the perks of paying extra is that you get 'extra' service on the flight from the crew!!

All safety no matter what class is priority!!

You will love Upper Class......the first time I did it, I was a bit embarrassed walking to the front of the queues, getting on and off the plane first and my luggage coming off first.....someone complained that they had to wait for an hour to check in when there was no queue at the UC desk......we walked straight to the front and checked in......then you have to think well hey, I have paid a lot more money for this privilege so it is deserved!! :woohoo:

No, what I said was they were at your call, as the complaint from Economy is that they push the call button and no-one comes. this hasnot happened on my UC flights.

This old chestnut of crew there for safety reason only rears its head again!

Yes, they are there under CAA rules to help in emergencies, but their contract of employment also requires them to do the other things apart from safety issues, as required of a Flight Attendant and the reason why more than the minimum are employed.
If no requirement was there for safety reasons, they would still be employed to carry out the rest of the work the position requires, namly serving and assisting passengers.

The simple situation is that passenger to FA ratio is significantly better in Upper Class than Economy and thats for a reason away from safety issues!

absolutely....there are many more of them in business class on all airlines than what is needed for safety's sake...
on my airline, i also fly upstairs in a very sparcely populated business section....the flight attendents practically never leave us alone for constantly serving us...
i never eat when i fly and boy does that get a big response...the attendants usually come back repeatedly, offering to make me up something special...anything my little heart desires...and they usually bring stuff by constantly, hoping i'll relent...they are there to make the business and 1st class passengers comfortable and happy....and that's why airlines charge big bucks for the privilege of receiving that sort of service...

Have a wonderful time in upper class. The staff are friendly and always approach and ask if you have flown in UC before and need to be shown how to use the seat etc. Don't be embarrased to admit that this is your first time as there will be others in the same situation.
Be aware that once you have done it you will find it very hard to ever turn right when you enter the plane again!!

You lucky so and so. Upper Class indeed lol :worship:

If your not sure, just style it out like I usually do :cool1:

You really shouldn't feel bad or paranoid about being in UC.

Bottom line, it's not about social status, it's about money. If you had the money to buy those UC tickets, then you deserve to be there. :)

I'm flying UC for the first time next March (For those who read my earlier thread, yes I decided to go with VA) and I'm certainly not going to feel worried about being there and I'm not playing "dress up" to try to look like a "business" passenger either. :)

I paid to be there and I definately intend to enjoy it.
