Virgin Room Allocation @ All Star Movies

I'm curious whether holidays booked through Virgin Holidays are all allocated rooms in the same block at All Star Movies, or whether the rooms are allocated purely by the Resort and could be in any block within the preferred/non-preferred sections.

Hello Mika,

I believe they could be anywhere in the resort, though in theory you won't get a room in one of the "preferred" areas unless you have paid for it.

We booked with VH for December 2004 and were allocated Dalmations. At that time it wasn't a preferred room option which I believe it is now.

You can always ask VH to make a note on your reservation if you have a section in mind

Yep, they're anywhere. We went with friends and we were in different blocks. We stayed in Toy Story and it was fab!

have found that uk guests as staying for 2 weeks are uasly put in prefered areas.If you are staying with friends you can allways request at checkin to be near them

When we went last year I just asked VH to put a request on my booking for a Fantasia Room. Its just what I got when we arrived and we did not have to pay any extra. Its always worth asking just in case you get lucky.

you can always take a look at the room you have been allocated and if youre not happy with it go back to the check in and ask to be moved. They are usually happy to do this, we have done this a couple of times.

We stayed at Mighty Ducks - room 2706 in 2005. When we checked in one year later (2006) we stayed in Mighty Ducks - room 2704 (2 rooms away !!!)
Both on ground floor near to the smaller swimming pool. A bit of a walk to the food court, but quite and peaceful at night. We will be departing for Disney again in six weeks time, but have decided to have a change, and try A.S. Sports

last year i phoned the resort about a week to go{that was pors}i asked for a room which i wanted and when i got there and booked in ,it was on the screen and booked in for me,try that

I wouldnt pay for a preffered room, just fax them a couple of weeks before hand requesting something a little closer, maybe Dalmations or Toy Story sections.

When we went last, we were allocated a room near the love bug section, even though we had faxed requesting Toy Story, but after telling them about the fax at check-in they moved us much closer to the main building.

When we went (4 years ago) at check-in we were offered a choice between 3 different blocks-can't remember choices, but we went with Mighty Ducks which was fine, as before slightly longer walk but quiet and pool was fine. I've read that check-in staff get fed-up with people faxing preferences and the best bet is to get your travel agent to put on your booking. I'm trying that this year.
