I've had Virgin Mobile for my daughter for a few months now, and on the whole we've been quite happy. However, last week she did have to call customer service, and that was an experience I'd rather not repeat. We have a credit card on file, but we use top up cards monthly so my card does not get charged. This month, however, they charged my card and a small fee to my card a few days BEFORE we were due to add a card. Got it straightened out, but it took a long time, and several calls.
So, what I'd like to do is drop down to a lower plan for the few months she is home from college. During the school year, I buy her the $55 card, because it includes unlimited calling. Now that she's home for the summer, she basically only needs texting and data, so I wanted to drop her down to a $35 card, which is still unlimited texting and data, but only 300 minutes talk time. Has anyone ever attempted this? I'm wondering if Virgin Mobile will realize we want a lower plan when we add a lower card, or will they turn around and charge my credit card the extra $20, since I normally add a $55 card?
***eta: Never mind, I noodled around on the Virgin site and found a "change my plan" spot. Thanks anyways.
