Does anyone have this type of phone as a pay as you go? Can you use it in the USA?? or only Canada? I need a pay as you go phone that works in the states as well as Canada. Any sugestions?

My wife has one. It does not work in the US. Koodo has US roaming but it is pricey.

I was in Orlando in May and I have a Koodo phone. They charge $0.35/minute long distance and $1.00/minute roaming. So, calls back to Canada are $1.35 per minute.

I don't bother with using the cell phone anymore, unless it's an emergency. Now, I just buy a PC Long Distance card, use the 1-866 number, and calls are only 4.4 cents/minute. MUCH better rate.

Your Canadian Virgin phone will not work in the states. I read the phone use thread and got this advice. I was in Port Huron before we left for WDW. I bought 2 cheap Virgin phones ($12.99 each). When I got home I activated them. We needed 2 phones so the kids could go off on their own and we could contact them. It sounds complicated, but it worked and you can call Canada for 15 cents a minute using the phone. We bought $20 phone cards with 200 minutes each and did not come close to using all the minutes but now we have phones we can use down there. All you need to do to reactivate them is buy a new phone card. It was still way cheaper than using my Bell phone down there because of the ridiculous roaming charges.
I could also leave a number with family and friends who might need to contact us. We received calls from home just fine.
I know some people had phones delivered to their WDW hotel if they weren't able to go to the states to pick one up. I just happened to be down there before we left.
