I'll start by apologising if this is the wrong place for this post.

We have booked with virgin Holidays for 3 weeks in AoA but will be going to Universal a couple of times.
My question is...... is the transport to Universal included in the package like it used to be years ago, or do we have to find our own way there now? Also We have 2 ECV users in our group of 7 people. Will this make a difference?

I have searched everywhere but cannot find the correct information.

Thanks in advance for all help. :goodvibes

When we got tickets from them we had to make our own way there, i would double check with them. Are you hiring a car? If so just srive and use the parking there, might be easier with the ecvs

when we last booked with VH, which was two years ago, the price was for the ticket only and we had to book transport if we didn't have a car. From AOA resort there is a shuttle run by Mears (its about £15 each return or maybe more, can't remember). As you have a couple of ECV's I would suggest you call them and let them know so they can send a shuttle van that can accommate you as often the transport is a coach.:)

We are getting the magic express transfer from airport to hotel.
The ECVs will be collected at the hotel and used for the duration of our stay. They do not belong to us.

I was wondering if it would be cheaper to get a taxi. There are 7 of us so not sure if this is even a viable option.

Last time I went was 15 years ago and so much has changed. :confused3

you can buy Mears shuttle vouchers from a Virgin welcome meeting but its per person. We decided to book a cab last time we went to Universal as it worked out cheaper.
On our last trip, we planned to do the parks 2 days in a row-IOA one day and Universal the next. we then stayed at a Universal hotel for 1 night. This saved on cab fares and the express passes. Staying at a Universal hotel, your key is like an express pass. :thumbsup2

you should be able to book a Mears cab to take both ECV's, although I dont think it would take everyone else as well. I know Ive been in once with 2 wheelchairs but there was only room for 3 people. so you may have to take 2 cabs and could end up being expensive-theyre about $45 each way.
you could try emailing mears, or asking concierge at your hotel for advice.
we got concierge to book ours for us, think they needed 24 hours for a wheelchair/ecv booking.

Hopefully someone with more info can help.
If not try the DisAbility section on here or the Universal section, they may be able to offer alternatives. :goodvibes

Thank you for all your advice. I am finding the fact that we have 2 ECVs in our group a bit of a problem, but as pp has said I will ask mears online and might even speak to concierge before we leave for Florida.

I think that the coaches might be the best option as I doubt and taxi/minibus will be able to accomodate 2 ECVs. If we decide to go this route I assume we can book at the concierge desk stating that we have 2 ECVs the day before we plan to go to Universal.

Hi, can I just jump in and ask a question please!

We are booked with VH to stay at CBR and plan to go to SW one day. We used the VH shuttle passes when we went in 2007 and they were good value. The VH rep visited our hotel frequently so they were easy to buy as we needed! Do you know how much they are now please?

Thanks :goodvibes

Im not sure but I just looked and a few people mentioned $20 per person. Think thats for a round trip.
you can also get a bus from the TTC and possibly Downtown Disney (I think)
not sure if thats something youre interested in.
The bus details are in the Seaworld section

You could catch a Lynx bus number 50 from either the TTC or DTD that will take you to Seaworld for $2 each way. I wouldn't spend all that money on a shuttle from VH when it can be done far cheaper. If you don't have a car and are planning on going to IOA/US then maybe yes get a pass as its a bit of a pain getting the bus to there.:)

Thanks for the replies :goodvibes

We aren't doing Uni/ IoA so will only need to get to SW. It was about $30 each way from OKW last year, so no different to a virgin shuttle pass.
Thanks, will have a think about the lynx bus :thumbsup2
