I flew from Gatwick this February on a Virgin plane. Can't say there was anything noteworthy about it. Seatback screens, lousy food, lack of diet coke etc.

Where are you flying out from - we get lots of feedback here, most of it not so negative, but it may depend on your departure airport? I know a year or so ago - flights from Manchester were getting a bit of a rotten deal on old Icelandair planes being used.

I have only flown with Virgin from Gatwick and have always had superb service, food etc.

We have flown from manchester twice and had excellent service both times. When we have compared the flights with any other we have taken going on holiday in the Med - Virgin wins hands down!!
Last year the plane we went on was supposedly leased from Air Atlanta - it was actually a virgin plane leased TO Air Atlanta that they had back. To me it seemed a newer plane than the year before's - so I don't know if it was that leased plane.

Thanks to you all, we are flying from manchester, the kids saw that there were consoles in backs of seats and were looking forward to that, we are staying at holiday inn on i-drive any views on this hotel. thanks.

Can anyone confirm if Nintendo consoles are actually available on the Virgin Gatwick - Orlando route? I have a 12 year old who's life just about depends on this! I have read a few reports that you only get them on the planes from M'chester.

We fly from Manchester on the 7th May, the plane will be a 747-200 leased from Air Atlanta but in the full Virgin livery, with normal Virgin cabin crew etc.
We flew on a similar plane last year and everything was fine, the entertainment system was very good.
There has been a bit of a debate for some time regarding the plane used on the Manchester route and Virgin have come in for a bit of stick about it (including 2 e-mails from me) generally the flights to New York etc tend to get the newer planes for all the business people and us northerners get the 'cast offs' - probably a bit harsh after all the flights have always been good for us really.

Holiday Inn I drive is a good hotel, we stayed there a few years ago, the pool area is really good. The only downside for us is that we prefer a quieter location.
