Virgin Flights

Yeah you have to check in 24hrs before to do this, Im pretty sure 60% have already got their seats and your on the 40% of seats left so if your going to check in online, be on it from 8 am onwards.
I think it starts at 9 i fell into the 10.25 trap last year and their was nothing left for me to book till i got to the airport, it was a nitemare. I was then told i should start trying around 9am instead.

Thanks for the advice about the 8am start, my friend had suggested that we look earlier. There's 8 of us ging so I hope we can sit near each other else it will be a nightmare with the 4 kids not sitting together.

My seats are pre-booked but I am curious: does the suggestion of checking from 8 or 9 am apply to the flight because it is 10.25? Or if your flight is at say 2 pm, should you be checking from 8/9 am as well?

Im not to sure on that, but they would be no harm in trying from 8am onwards if you have easy access to a computer.

Hopefully paul you will be ok on the 8 off you, just try to get on as quick as possible that day and type fast.

We booked through Thomas Cook Signature also flying with Virgin and we had a nightmare trying to book seats beforehand.

TCS had allocated 8 passengers on one booking for the flights, 5 of which were our party and the other 3 a completely different family. This caused problems when wanting to pre-book seats because it wouldn't allow us to separate the 8.

We only actually managed to allocate our seats the evening before flying and this was only due to us speaking with Virgin Flights direct.

Even then at the airport, when we got to check-in, there were still better seats available and they moved us :rotfl:

It was so much easier before they started all this 'on-line check in'

Oh I have been through this with them before too - spent 10 months going in almost every week only to be told "next week" and that I couldn't do it, but they had to on my behalf as my TA ..... this went on until a couple of weeks before we flew only to be told they can't do it, I have to do it myself. VA insisted that TC had to do it. It never happened.

Well in many ways it was - if you had a flight you had to be sure to check in early to get a pick of the seats.

I'll have my computer on that day nice and early, need to get ready for all the early mornings any way !

We'd like to book the back seats as they are aisle and window, but fingers crossed we might get them :crowded:

There's an extra charge for these seats.

I wouldn't be surprised it they bring in charging for all seat requests eventually. When we flew to Majorca a couple of years ago we had to pay to have seats allocated even though we needed to sit together due to our son having special needs. VA have always been fantastic sorting us out but this year I haven't contacted special needs department have just requested seats on their web site and just hope the request follows through. I hate having to get on the phone and deal with these things.
