Hi all,

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I can't find a thread in the search. I've just booked through WDW site for this Aug/Sept and for the first time added flights on - I usually book flights separately but this time TC are coming out more expensive for PE than the Virgin PE cost, and I've never flown Virgin before.

My question is how do I select our seats? Through WDW or Virgin direct? And when will this be available to do? Also, can you manage your booking preferences on the Virgin site, i.e. veggie meals etc?

Hey, I just booked through WDW with Virgin PE flights too.

I just called Virgin once I was booked, they found my flight details with surname/DOB, and was able to book my seats over phone. They also gave me the details to log in online/on the app to book/change my seats on there.

:)

All of the above :)

Just called them, thanks for the advice! A lovely welsh man helped me so I could go online and choose seats and meals for our trip. Does anyone know the difference / advantage / disadvantages of the upper deck? I see there are PE and standard seats up there as well as the lower deck.

The advantages are that it's quiet and you're normally able to board first from your category (first class, premium economy etc)

The negatives are that you will have to go downstairs for the toilet, you usually get served food and beverages last, and finally if there are enough spare seats below, they sometimes close the bubble and move people downstairs.

All the above dont happen every single time but I've known them too quite often. There will be people say that these things haven't happened to them but just bear them in mind before booking.

On the seating plan it shows a toilet at the very front of the upper deck, in front of the PE seats. We've booked PE so assume it's for our use? If they bump you down to the lower deck do they try to keep your party seated together?

They must have started upgrading certain plane models in regards to the toilet which is good.

They try to keep you seated but there is no guarantee unfortunately

We flew PE on the return flight on the upstairs deck. I really liked it and there was a locker at the side of the seat near the window which gave me space to put my legs up. I am only 5'3" so not sure if someone a lot taller would manage that. The toilet was shared with all passengers upstairs if I remember rightly.

5'5" so might be ok for me too!

PE upstairs is great, except all of the Economy people also upstairs will be off before you. The toliet is for all upper deck passengers (PE and Eco).

They tend to move upper deck Eco passengers down to the main Eco area than PE. PE is almost always full on every VA flight I've been on.

You don't get served food last as the food is prepared upstairs. The crew are not allowed to carry the hot food or drinks up and down the stairs as it is too dangerous.

All of the 747s at Gatwick have been this way since they were last updated which is over 5 years ago now. They are looking tired now.
