Virgin car hire question

I am in the middle of booking a holiday for next year flying with virgin.
I know that if i book it on line i can avoid having the car, i just wanted to know that if i rang up virgin holidays do i have to have their car hire? or will they let me book without or take the basic free car

Are you just booking a fly-drive? As then they will require you to book the most basic car for your party.

thanks claire, it is a fly drive, looks like i will have to book the basic car with virgin,but hire one from somewhere cheaper!

Even booking on line you will need to take the most basic car, although you can opt out of their insurance.
