Virgin Atlantic - "Bid Now to Upgrade"

The minimum bid price is still more than I would be willing to pay (and then there are taxes on top) so it's not something I would do.

We were lucky coming home in July (BA) in that there were 12 rows of 3 empty seats near us so we were able to spread out and have a lie down:goodvibes

I appreciate that it is rare to have that many empty seats on a flight but I was so glad not to have paid for PE.

We flew in December and were offered PE for £250 each on the way out, we declined :)

We asked at the airport on our last trip and was told £299 each for the return flight.

Yet this time when booking our flights for May it was only around £180pp to book PE return flights instead of Economy. You would think at the airport the price would be lower as surely its better to get anything they can for the seat instead of it being empty.

and that is what I am hoping on our return journey! :rotfl: I would never pay VA upgrade prices at the airport, they are always way too high for what you get. We paid for this years flights by air miles but only had enough for PE on the way out. Of course its great to have the extra space etc and if I was rich then I'd pay for PE or UC but I'm not!!:) I am quite willing to squash myself into a seat with my knees under my chin if it gets me to WDW!

I know, I just smiled and said £750 was a lot of spending money :rotfl:
