I will be flying Virgin America for the first time next month, and when I purchased my tickets I signed up to get promotional e-mails.

I just got an e-mail from Virgin America saying that they will begin NONSTOP service from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Orlando on August 19.

ONE-WAY fares from Los Angeles are currently advertised on the website as
Tues/Wed/Thur - $149
Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon - $169

ONE-WAY fares from San Francisco are currently advertised on the website as
Tue/Wed/Thur - $199
Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon - $219

I don't know how this compares to fares currently available through airlines that already fly those routes, but I hope this helps someone.

I'm looking everyday for Thanksgiving fares and wondering when they will release those dates. Sooooo glad Virgin is going to be an option for us, love that airline!!!:thumbsup2

Anyone besides me feel that these fares are underwhleming and pretty much just mirror the rest of the market? -- Suzanne

I agree. It's still quite possible to find fares of $99 each way when there are good sales going. These introductory fares are indeed unimpressive. But it's good to have them in Orlando; more competition is ultimately a good thing!

I'm so stinkin' excited.

IMO, VA is probably the BEST airline out there, and we will fly them even though they charge for the first bag. Their "mood" lighting, the music in the terminals, the FUN flight attendants (though I've also dealt with two notable grouches as well)...and the onboard entertainment called RED are just unsurpassed in my experience. DH would tell me that business class going to Hong Kong on whichever airline he was on for that is better, but I haven't had that experience, so this is what I know.

We were planning on Alaska from Seattle (if we didn't manage to convince ourselves to fly VA into Ft Lauderdale, LOL), but now we might use those Alaska miles to get us down to SFO or LAX (and if we go to LAX, we can just add on a few DLR days!) to take our fave (domestic) airline!

Love Virgin America! (oh, except that their frequent flyer miles expire :headache:)
