VIP Tours - Utilidors

Obviously this is a bit of a hypothetical since we don’t know what access will be like going forward, but does anyone know if you can request to view the utilidors as part of a private VIP tour? I’ve never thought to ask our guide in the past but was really hoping to see them on our trip in May. We go through lots of other backstage areas but I wasn’t sure if I can request to spend a few minutes touring the tunnels or if I would need to book the Keys to the Kingdom tour separately (if they become available again).

Nope- I was a VIP guide for years- Keys is your only option and you must be 16 (I was also a Keys guide). (We did use utilidors occasionally for extremely high profile guests who would have had trouble moving around the parks otherwise.) They are gross and smell- you're not missing much- I promise- when I worked in Tomorrowland I used to have to hold my nose in one area. There are some behind the scenes Disney World videos out now where you can see the utilidors if you really want (it isn't nearly as secret as it used to be).

I took the Keys tour and the Backstage Magic tour in 2018 and both took us through the Utilidors.

Utilidors, IMHO, were nothing special. It was like walking around a building's basement from what I remember.

Yes it does- I always forget that one- trust me a 5 hour scripted tour is long enough for a guide ;-).

Saw them on backstage magic (2012) and it's boring. It looks indeed like a basement. The only good thing was that they showed us the working of animatronics there. But to see the utilidors... There is nothing special about it. We saw some CMs walking around, but that was all the connection with Disney we saw. Otherwise it was very unidentifiable.
