We are flying from the East Coast for OBB, and will be onsite the week before Indigenous Peoples day. We had originally planned to do just the OBB but part of the group is arguing for a one day VIP tour. We have only been to DL twice, most recently in 2017, so there's lots to see. However, there are only about 7 attractions on our must do list (HM, SM, BTM, Pirates, Matterhorn, GotG Mission Breakout, and the Avengers campus). We would love to see backstage stuff or Walt's apartment but I don't think those are included in VIP tours. Any thoughts or recommendations for a guide?

Based on your list ... I would say just spring for Genie + and you will be able to everything. Are you staying onsite?

VIP Tour is really just for skipping lines. There are benefits in terms of entering the park thru the exit turnstiles, but you generally don't go into any backstage areas. There are some special tours which have done things, but I don't believe those have restarted post pandemic.

You should be totally fine with just getting G+. VIP tours are very expensive and you often feel like you have to keep going and doing more things to make it worthwhile. You don't have a huge list of must-dos, so can easily do that plus just explore atmosphere and enjoy yourselves.
